I found some belts at target that would be passable as Jedi belts. their are various types one has a little pouch on it. I got a solid dark brown belt that has two thin leather straps with small buckels. They alos had some that just went through a loop and latched onto a post. They were $16 to $20. I have my first coustume pieace yeah!!!!!!! ;D

I am not talented at working with leather, so I bought mine from Parksabers. They have 2 different styles. I hear on the boards that there are a few sites that sell them. I do need pouches though. I am also looking for the pens to use for the food pellets. here is the pic for the one I bought and a pic for the padawan belt. You can get them in black or brown. www.buystarwarsstuff.com/jedibelt.shtmlwww.buystarwarsstuff.com/padawanbelt.shtml

Here's my belt...I made it. I have some background as a leather worker...This one is made from "blacksmith" leather (a medium thickness, soft, slightly oily leater)...The pouch and comlink case are made from the same... the closure is with snaps (dot snaps, like on a gun holster or folding knife case), and is on the side. Closing on the side makes it pretty easy to put on. --Kai

Ok Kai I really like youre work. Wish I could work wiht leather. What is the deal with the pens? I can get used small co2 cartridges from my paitball biz. they are not a threat for explosion since they have been used. I can't put a photo up cuz I don't have a digital cam and what not. I have racked my brain on how to use them as a prop I think they would work I can get them in silver and gold and a coppery color although harder to find. The other great thing is that I can get them free so I'm willing to pass them around to anyone. Like I said I'm not figuring out a way to alter themyet maybe velcro. Please message me back if you want more info. I can get them readily because I own a paintball field and they are ment to be tossed out but they would be usefull I know it!!!!

The "food and energy capsules" on the Ep. I & II Jedi belts were made from pen caps (Staedler?). I used a different brand, but they give the same effect. I doT need to paint mine though.
Jade, I thought, too, about using empty CO2 capsules, and still may. I have friends who play paintball, so I can get them easily. I also have some nifty brass pieces I may use...
Thanks, all...

If you do and figure out how to make them look better like getting the writng off attaching them, I was going to use velcro, let me know. I would appreciate it.

Really good job on the belt, I like the details. I'm thinking about the food caps next, they should be easy enough, I just need a little time. I have a couple of alternate crafts, sometimes useful, not in this instance. I do some minor red-smithing (cold-forge brass & copper) and jewelry stuff. And I can make some tribal stuff, like feather hddress & bustles and what are sometimes called "dreamcatchers". I used to do a fair amount of dollmaking as well, but don't have much patience or time anymore.

WAY cool!! Great belt!! You are indeed an extra-ordinary handy person....I am green with envy!
My jedi belt will be for sale as soon as the leather-maker I found finishes my new one....the old one is cool....it is a copy of Obi-Wan's that I purchased from the proppalace....but alas.....it is too big for me!
The new one that is being made will be made from an older piece of leather that already looks worn....it will fit me AND it will have a hook for a lightsaber with a hog ring or "d" ring in addition to the other clip thing!

Jade... I will let you know how the belt comes out...if it looks really good....I will get you the guy's info and let him know that someone else is interested in one...he could make it in black too...... I am sure he would ship. Unfortunatly, he does not have a web site. When I was talking to him, he didn't seem too computer inclined....I will make that suggestion to him.....he can use the stuff he makes for me as a "model" for future stuff.
I am so excited about this guy...I hope I am not disappointed...but I don't think I will be!

I am on pins and needles.... The leatherworker called last night while I was out cleaning up my garden.....he says that the boots AND the belt are done! Can you believe it? I dropped the stuff off on Wednesday night and they were done on Friday night....told you he was enthusiastic about the project.... I will be heading out there later on today to pick the stuff up .......keep your fingers crossed! I will either be the happiest "camper" on the planet this afternoon, or one very disappointed Jedi!

ohmigod!! It is really tough to type this while you are in the middle of back flips! I went to the leathermaker to see my boots and belt and they are so awesome I nearly cried...I am quite sure I was babbling when I was talking to him. The boots he made to look like Obi-Wans....he removed a decorative strap and buckle from the ankle area and sewed a new strap on with no buckle...he then put the three straps on the top of the boot and matched the ankle strap with the three on the top. The color match is perfect....I left the boots with him (reluctantly) so that he could put a new sole on the heels....I was wearing them funny. The belt is also completely awesome! It is completely adjustable...I could gain 100 pounds and I could still adjust it to fit. It is in a soft leather that matches the boots and it has a simple buckle on the front to hold the adjustment features ...just like Obi-Wans. I left the belt with him also because he wanted me to select the type and manner of attachment for the lightsaber clip.
AWESOME!! I am going back to the shop on Monday after work to pick up everything...he made a request....that I come in costume so he could see the whole thing together!
Next he will be doing the pouches.
I will e-mail anyone who is interested, a picture of the final products....I don't have a means to post them to the website here....
The name of the shop is: Wholly Cow 352 W. Maple New Lenox IL 60451 815-485-4810
