Xavior, my belt is 2 1/4 inches wide. I'm not good at posting photos either, but I have a simple pic I could email. To me, the extra width is extremely comfortable; holds my heavy lightsaber and doesn't "roll" on your waist.

my belt is about 3" wide...I splurged and had a leathermaker in the next town do mine....it stands up to my homemade lightsaber which is quite heavy and is comletely adjustable....
Once again, the great thing about being Jedi is that you can be creative...no two are exactly alike.

My belt is about 2 inches wide. Since I designed it, it is a pretty freaky design. I mean, whoever heard of a Jedi belt that has laces! It laces up with a shoelace under my pouch.

My belt is about 3 1/2 inches wide, and made of 1/4 inch cowhide, couldn't foldover if it tried, I had a leather guy at Ren fair do it for me, it's very adjustable, but needs a few modifications to be more comfortable, mostly shaving a bit of thickness from the inside of the inner belt so it slides into the loops easier. Jedi Charlie if you e mail the pic to Tanthos he can post it to the site. Toba Qaf what works is generally the best way to go, I have an alternate belt that is rows of punched holes all the way around in sets of three, but I like it, it's very comfortable.

wow.....Nova...the belt with the holes sounds a whole lot like the belt I used before I had my current one made. It was a belt I had held on to that I wore with my bell-bottom hip-huggers from the late 1960's.....honest....I am not kidding....I held on to that belt for 30 years!

I was looking at the Ep I Visual Dictionary and noticed Mace's belt was rather plain when compared to Anakin's Ep II and Obi's. It's good to know you don't need the "small belt on big belt" look like Obi's. Basically there is no hard and fast rule to belts it seems. Be creative. And not all Jedi have all the same accessories either it seems. Some seem to hold only the necessities, such as a lightsabre and a pouch or two. Maybe it depends on the mission?

wow....good observation... maybe Mace didn't need as much "going on" with his belt because he stayed at the Temple pretty much and not out on missions...

Yes, there is quite a variety og belts and boots going on. Ben Kenobi's belt is plain and has a single band with a battered silvery rectangular buckle. Not all carry the food & energy caps either. I think you are right about Maces belt, he's more of a diplomat most of the time.

You use an awl, which is a sort of knife with a curled edge and a point. You use it like, well, an awl. You twist it into the leather and turn it until the hole is big enough.

Nice! I'm on the hunt now for my boots...it looks like I'm going to be going with Motorcowboy.com. A fellow Jedi buddy of mine has the Obi-Wan style he makes, and they are amazing with a capital "HOLY CRAP!" They're pricey naturally, but they'll last his lifetime, his kid's lifetime, and his grandkid's lifetime...etc etc... Hey, for those food capsules I found Garcia Y Vega cigars that come in a plastic tube. Now I'm not encouraging smoking of course, but if ya got any relatives or friends with a vice for them there "see-garrs" you might wanna ask for the tubes after. A little bronze spray paint and a good sealer, and there's your food tube.

Another way to punch a lot of holes in leather is a leather hole punch, looks kind of like a plier with a spur rowle at the end, the thing rotates and punches several sizes of holes uniformly, like a paper punch works. Xavior, there ought to be A/N stores in Boston proper, we have them in nycity, but a trip to p-town might be a nice adventure, I'd call ahead, and ask what they have, and what the price range is. The belt with the holes I bought on the street for I think about $5, street vendors, gotta love em sometimes.
