Hey! I just wanted to let those that are thinking about ordering from Dave to know about my experiences. I just received today 2 Covertec Belt Clips. It took about a week to ship them to Canada and I must say that I'm impressed with the speed of the delivery. Dave took the time to answer any questions that I had and replied to my email questions quickly. It was a pleasure dealing with him during the transaction period. Thanks for all of the help Dave!! I greatly appreciate it.

Hi Dave;
Just checked out your website thanks to Jedi Loreen Shadowchaser. You've got the look down pat. I spent 3 months researching the belts and looked at hundreds of photos. The only problem I incurred was getting the Obi-wan, Qui-gon buckle. I looked everywhere. I live in So. Cal and normally if it exists, it can be found here. No luck....Nada. Finally i decided to use something that looked pretty close after determining that the only other belt maker used resin for his buckles. I bought the parts for it from Jeff Parks [of Parks Sabers]. A nicer gentleman can't be found and his lovely wife was a great help too. Even though it isn't really a buckle. It's pieces of horse harness. He uses it on his belts. I made a configuration change and fastend mine directly to the belt, unlike what he does.
It's really nice that you took the time to get parts that we all can use. The sam brown belt studs [rivets] are exactly right. Where in the world did you find the Anakin/Mace Windu/Kit Fisto belt buckles? Those are very nice. Lori [Loreen] showed me hers. I guess I'm going to have to order one. Your food caps are also perfect. You might want to make an arrangement with Paul Meija to buy his Jedi pouches. Although not perfect, they are much better than the resin ones. These are made of leather also. Jahzmynn told me about them and they are great. As far as I can see your's are the most accurate belts for the price on the market. Congratulations!
Zhi-don

Thank You - But I am the first to admit that my belts, while nice, are not totally screen accurate. They are close and make for a real nice belt for any costume. The Anakin Buckles...........lets just say I stumbled upon them. It took me a good 6 or 8 months of searching before I finally found them. The Rivets - My friend is a manager for Tandy Leather and I had sent a sample of the rivet I was looking for down to him - he directed me to another company and again, after a little looking, the rivets turned out to be the right ones. The Sam Browne Studs are a nice substitiute rivet but again - not totally accurate. The one's I have are not made by Sam Browne but are a much closer match and some even say a perfect match . The Food Pellets - I agree. I am extremely happy with how they came out. That was alot of trial and error with colors though. I wanted the right look and I think I found it. As far as the Obi Buckle - I am still looking. That is a project for later this year I think - looks like I will end up having them made. Finding the right buckle seems to be a difficult task as I have spent close to a year looking with no luck. Yes Paul's pouches are fantastic - I don't sell his pouches but I do refer people to him. Paul, Primrodo, and I are working on the Obi Buckle together - and with those 2 on my side I know that the buckle will be a very accurate piece. Dave

This is my second experience with Dave. Both times have been great. He takes the time to answer my questions and didn't get mad when I was bothering the heck out of him. Great guy.
Thanks Dave!

Dave made a custom Jaina belt for me a month or so ago. I absolutely adore it! He is such a big sweety, answering any and all questions I had very quickly via email. The belt is such fantastic, fits perfectly, and looks great!

while not Jedi - I am honored none the less - Daniel Logan, young Boba Fett, wore one of my belts this weekend at Dragon*Con. A little back story - I was working on a Boba Fett belt for a friend with the intention to have it ready for a parade at the end of this month - well we talked last week and he joked that he would like to have it for DC. Since I am not one to dissapoint, I busted hump to get the belt done and down to Atlanta for DC. Yesterday I get the rumor from a friend at DC that Daniel Logan might be wearing my friends costume today and he loved my belt. I was floored and thougth I couldn't be so lucky. Well - today luck was on my side: I am still floored that my belt, a prototype at that, is around the waist of Young Boba Fett. Just thought I would share as I am still excited about it. So much for sleep tonight ;D Oh - and my camera walked around with Mr Logan and my friends all day today - can't wait to see those pics

Anybody know about how much a belt would be to buy or make...which would be cost effective?

TaiLon, If you can work the leather it's not that hard a project, but if not then buy one, there are several quality belts out there that aren't to exhorbitant. I had mine made at a Ren Faire so it was really a bit more than it should have been, but he did do it my way, to my design which works very well for me, but I plan on a couple of modifications for comfort & ease of getting on & off. But mine will fit me at any size I'm likely or even unlikely to be, wether I gain or lose wt. Hey Dave great shot of Daniel in the belt! I know how you feel, I did a costume for David Prowse for a shoot once & he really loved it, I've got a couple of shots of him in it and they make me smile whenever I see them.
