I was trying to make a Twilight Princess Link. I had a great time playing the game and liked that Link outfit, so I started in March to assemble to costume.

Head on over to the Traveling Qui-Gon thread to see my new vintage mourning hat and my costume, I'm holding Qui-Gon in the group pic. Although I forgot my capelet in the pic.

Man, it's amazing what turns up at the Salvation Army thrift store... I just found a brown and turquoise mens nylon/acetate buttondown shirt... polka dots and all... holy 1970's! Now if I can manage to get the odor out....

I was trying to make a Twilight Princess Link. I had a great time playing the game and liked that Link outfit, so I started in March to assemble to costume. Sweet, the design on that one was pretty awesome and they seem to be carrying it forward with future "adult Link" timeline games (Skyward Sword had a similar design). I've seen some people make it and it looks amazing in person, so best of luck with that! I wanted to do Twilight Princess Zelda or Princess Midna at one point.. ^^;

The Link costume has been in the works since march. I was hoping to have it done for this Halloween, but encountered some "problems". But, I'm finally back on track!

Awesome! Sadly my Ocarina of Time Shiek has been on pause for a few years due to one thing or another. :/

Hopefully you'll be able to get your costume completed. I saw a Sheik costume last week at NYCC and it was well done. Have you seen the funny Legend of Zelda video on YouTube where Zelda as Sheik denies being Zelda to Link?

The costume is still on my "to-do" list, it's just nowadays become a matter of "when".. *sigh* And I might have seen it, I'd have to go look as at this point I don't remember, lol.

I'd like to make a suit of armor out of ABS plastic or sintra from Excalibur as a dream costume Nice! One of my favorite armor costumes is the battle costume worn by Cate Blanchett in the movie Elizabeth, the Golden Age. This would look great on my sister, the one I made the Eowyn dress for. She's got the hair like that! I'd love to make this for her. I have no idea how I would do it, I'd have to learn a bunch of new skills, but it would be a fun challenge! Alas, she is not much into costuming anymore.... she's moved on to different things like antiques dealing and her restoring her historical house. Anyway, for now I have a different project on deck!

That is a great costume! All the costumes from that movie are great. I'm not sure how to go about making it though.
Historical house, huh? I'd love to have one of those.

ABS is what they make stromtrooper armor out of.It's bit hard and preferred to use a vac mold.Sintra is lightweight and you can shape it with a heat gun.
