The Chiss are on our list tonight!!!
Jedi time: 8pm CST Jedi Temple meeting thread: here!
It's time for our first meeting ;D. I'll meet everyone here tonight and we can discuss Outbound Flight...it was really good...more plot twists and turns then a snake!
One new thing I thought of...I'd like everyone to rate each book we read on a scale of 1 thru 10 (1=waste of my time, 10= one of the best books you've ever read). Post tonight what you'd give Outbound...then we'll come up with an average for each book! You can use 1/2's also (like 6.5 or 9.5), but nothing smaller then 1/2's please.
Can't wait ;D

After having read Survivors Quest it was nice to go back to read Outbound Flight & learn about it. Though I wasn't too fond of the Jedi Master Jorus C'baoth & felt a bit sorry for his padawan Lorana.

Good evening!
So...on a 1-10...what did you all think? I went with a 9...it grabbed me and sucked me in! Trying to figure out the motives behind Thrawn's actions....wow! Can Zahn wrtie or what!

Im with you Jan...I felt so bad for Lorana, she was a good Jedi, but had a psycho Master! I thought C'Boaths' clone was crazy in the Thrawn trilogy....but it wasn't the clone...it was C'Boath that was crazy!

I'm going to give the book a 7 because it was a bit hard to get into, but it was good to see the background of Thrawn & how he learned basic

Did you think Obi-wan and Anakin were necessary in the story? I thought they were kinds 'thrown in' to get people some characters from the movie...

Actually it was interesting to see how Obi-Wan & Anakin got kind of mixed up into all of OBF & how devious or conniving Palpatine was in wanting to get rid of Jedi but yet save Anakin for his future plans without anybody knowing what he was doing.

I agree they were worked into the story nicely. But I just felt that it would have been the same story if you eliminated them from it, so their presence didn't shape the story in any way. It was interesting how Anakin was so taken with C'Boath...and how C'boath was so powerful and overwhelming...everyone bowed to him basically....nobody challenged him! It was cool to see how Palpy manipulated things to get Anakin off...

Sorry I'm late. give it about a 7. A lot of politics did not need to be involved in this book. I think it should have been more about the flight itself than the politics. The whole book was kind of anti-climatic after reading "Survivor's Quest" and all the Thrawn books

Yea the whole Ani/Obi plot was unnecessary. They were just thrown in to give face characters for those who may hot have read SQ or any other Thrawn book. They too were unneccessary

C'Boath was an interesting character. Imagine him as Anakin's Master... ::shudder::

This book really made me love Thrawn as a character. I'd only read the first two of the Thrawn Trilogy before reading this....and then When I really started to LIKE him as a good guy from OBF...then he gets killed in the Last Command!
