the reason that i thought it should have been split up was simply because the two halves of the book seemed discordant.....the first book could have been all of that plotting and planning about the OBF project and the second book being about the project itself...both parts....but especially the acutal OBF project parts...expanded to fill in two books. Wasnt Vergere (from NJO) supposed to be involved with OBF project in some way?
i agree that 's thrawn on the cover...i was wondering if anyone remembers any descriptions from the text.
I guess i need to read Survivor's Quest and Tatooine Ghost as well. I also need to re-read Spectre of teh Past, the first book of the Hand of Thrawn duology...then read Visions of the Future...never got around to taht one. All of the studying i do as part of Darth Real Life really makes extracuricular reading take much longer than most people....i just finished Cestus Deception..took me about a month...lol.

yeah..this was fun....i need to get the new vader book, i guess. Reading for a book club or class really makes me pay attention to things and think more critically about them than i ordinarily do. (for star wars fiction, anyway) Any English Teachers in the assembly? maybe in the future we can focus in on theme/symbolism/foreshadowing/metaphor/etc. like we had to do for English Lit stuff....no essays though....

Hi guys... I'm late... I forgot. I enjoyed the book but I was a bit disappointed with several aspects of it... Like the ending. So it just crashes? That's it? Assuming Lorana and Thriss die in the crash. What happens to the other people... the Jedi potentials and families? And what happend to Obi-Wan and Anakin? That thread was just left hanging. I was hoping they would at least be involved in the climax of the story, even if the were not the main characters. Zahn just dropped them. Watching C'boath fall to the dark side was cool. Zahn really showed how an obsession can bring down a Jedi. I wonder if the blood and tissue samples collected before takeoff were intended for cloning purposes. They said it was to check for viruses, but could it possibly have been used to clone C'boath? Hmmm.... Interesting to see Thrawn as a good guy. Or... so we are meant to believe. It seems that his character is very good at deception. Thrawn is definitely a well thought out character. I read the first 2 of the Thrawn trilogy about 7 years ago... and I never read Survivor's Quest. I give it a 7 Great characters, story-- eh...

And who is Vergere? There was no info on her other than that she's a missing Jedi. It would have been nice to know a little background there.
Zahn tells the story as though everyone has read the other novels surrounding it. A couple of sentences would have explained why it was so important to find her.
It seemed to me like the book was more of a Thrawn prequel, than it was a book about Outboud Flight.

It was cool to see C'boath crash...but he didn't have far to fall!!!! He was just like a 'Bizarro'...the exact opposite of how/who a Jedi was!

Wow--- a big network, I'll say! I did read Rogue Planet. I thought the name sounded vaguely familiar. That was a good book. I read it while camping. So the tissue samples were for cloning! So... that means that Obi-Wan and Anankin, as well as the rest of the passengers could have been cloned also. Thanks for those links!
