Thanks Xana........I have copied them for here too....hmmmm the colors in the post didn't transfer...oh well, it was prettier...lol
Yellow band----New beginnings as a Padawan. This is applied right after being choosen as a Padawan(before 16 standard years old.)
Beads or other color bands represent the Padawan's area/s of study. Possibly woven along the braid. The yellow band at the top and the Red band at the bottom.
Red band after 16 standard years old means he/she is starting on the road for gaining of wisdom and knowledge.
White-------Healer Blue--------Mechanics Red---------Pilot Green-------Living Force Yellow------Lightsaber/and other weapons Black-------Jedi version of Covert Operations.

:-D Well, I'd rather attract a male then a Female Jen. ;-) JK, They do seem to attract males too. Most of the comments came from the males. Jen, can you post a pic of how your braids are situated. What do you use to keep them secured without tearing up your hair?

[shadow=red,left,300]Suprisingly enough I use normal hair ties. But according to that chart I need to use a black band with red and yellow beads on it. Which is cool cause my sca colors are Red, Gold and Black!! I think I'm gonna have my wife make me some nice braid ties out of embroidery floss with red and gold beads on it. Sounds cool Jen. I use Bands of Embroidy floss instead of beads. One thing that confuses me is, some soruces say there are colors woven into the braid itself AND bands. Yet other sources say , only the bands. I need a picture to prove to me which is correct.

Seen this one before, that's how I found HOW and with what to wrap the braid. Nice close up. From the pic it looks as if the braid actually started at the top of the ear and falls behind it. Thanks

[shadow=red,left,300]I intend for the band itself to be embroidery floss but with beads on it. I like somewhat fanciful stuff.[/shadow]

Ahh, I have a few like that. I have two that are white.blue and green. One that's purple,.blue and green. :-) In fact I did padawan braids like that until I could get my hair long enough to have it of my own hair or an extension. :-)
People do think the embroidry braids are cool looking. WHen you do that, Jen Use DMC brand of Embroidry floss. It's color lasts longer and doesn't bleed off.

[shadow=red,left,300]The braid itself is actually a lock of my hair braided. It'll hang just past my jawline. The tieoff will be embroidery floss. Probably some of her silk floss. It works quite well for not bleeding. Its what she uses in our garb when she embroiders.[/shadow]

Sounds very pretty Jen. Where does your wife get her Silk Embrodry floss from? I'm looking for some for a project I'm doing. I plan on using some to make some delicaite designs on my tunic sleeves.:-)
