I have been taking Tai Chi for two years....I like it...sort of..... I chose a really tough form to learn....it has 72 movements...most have only 36.....I am a little frustrated at this point and have stopped going to class, but I practice my basic principles and as much of the form as I know....after all this time I am still a little less than half-way through learning the form....it is VERY precise! I go for class at a "new age" shop close to my house..
I may never complete learning all 72 moves...but I can go with what I have already learned.
It LOOKS easy...but if you do it right....it is hard!

Speaking of lightsabers...I have a funny story for you all.
I went camping this weekend with my sisters and brother. I brought along my Hasbro electronic lightsabers in case my newphew would want to do a little practice dueling with me. I got to the campground first...and had some time to kill so I went for a walk at the campground. Two campsites down I heard laughing and "clicking"....there was a father and his two kids dueling with lightsabers....I went and got one of mine and they thought it was pretty funny to have Star Wars nuts just two campsites apart.
I also brought along my 27" R2D2 cooler....he was full of ice and the salad for the evening meal....anyway...R2 was seatbelted in the passenger seat of my Jeep Comanche pick-up .....each time I made a stop (I stopped for breakfast and to pick up some last minute supplies) people would be poiting and staring in the window at him seatbelted in when I would make my way back to the truck.......it was kinda cute....R2 gets a reaction from everyone.

Sounds like fun, I haven't had time to go camping in years, except on the NYLINE, if I could go next week, they wouldn't be fencing with lightsabers, just broadswords.

Sounds like you had so much fun. I like the R2 he sounds really neat. My two daughters birthdays were this weekend and what do you know SW was the theme. My older daughter got so much SW stuff and a new lightsaber, Grandma brought her SW pins from Disneyland, we played with the sabers all evening, now we have three. My Stepdaughter who absolutly hates SW played and is surcoming to the power of SW. She loves playing with the sabers and even decided the music was pretty cool. So one day I will transform her. LOL she is 12 if that is any help. diffucult time in life 12 is.

I'm not talented enough to make my own saber. I bought mine from Parksabers. I got the Echelon Saber and the Echeoln Jedi belt. I have seen some great homeade belts in the forums. I'm just not good at working with leather...

I saw that and I liked it can you tell me how durable the blade is and what color you got. I'm going to get one but I want to use it, not in full on brawl saberfights but if I whack it I don't want it to break and just let me know youre opinion. This is dumb but is it siglent or does it make noise. I like the kid ones cuz they make that cool noise.LOL

And what does he mean when he says there's a "ForceTouch" switch?

Greetings, all. I make all of my own lightsabers (I've made over 25) from various parts. Each is custom, and I'm proud of them all. That being said, and following this thread, not everyone has the experience and tools to construct their own. Also, not everyone can lay down $100-$300 for a custom made saber from Parks or Lightech or Master Replicas (or other sources). Recently, I took a trip to Toys R' Us and picked up one of the "Jedi Action Sets"--which contains a lightsaber (styled on Eeth Koth's--or was it Evan Piell's?--Episode I saber), along with some other stuff (belt, binoculars, and headset). The saber is pretty accurate, and the dimensions are tollerably close (very close). I took the notion to paint it, and fit it for a dowell rod blade (like used in stunt sabers for most fan-films). I've done one pic of the saber (still in progress, so bear with me) BUT it gives you an idea of what you can turn a $14.99 saber (that's the price for the set) into with a little spray paint and time... Here's the pic... Anywho, there's an idea for a cheap alternative...I'll be adding a Swivel Lock clip and some found items (brass knobs etc.) to the Hasbro saber...will post new pics when done. As for my personal saber, here's the one I usually carry...(larger image size...these two sabers are about the same length...) --Kai

I once took a really funny looking blaster that I bought for $8 at a con, 'cos I liked it's noises and painted it and added some wires and stuff and people were always trying to buy it off me for pretty good amounts of money, still have it somewhere, and it still looks pretty good.
