Toba, I can't see the photos. All I get is a "remote link forbidden". I tried the geocities trick with a ? and copying and pasting into a new window. Nothin. If what you did doesn't work, then you could try cliking on this link www.parabolagames.com/tobaqaf and then clicking "Photo page" on the left-side navigation bar. That will get you to it. Does that work?

Errr.... I don't know what's wrong . The only thing I can think of is to click the hompage icon on my post and try to navigate from there. Other than that, it's just impossible.

I couldn't find Staedtler Liquid Rollers because I believe they've been discontinued. However, Staedtler Gel Rollers look the same and work well. You can really only tell the difference if you put the two types of pen caps side-by-side because the Gel Rollers are a little longer and skinnier, so don't use them unless all of your food pellets are going to be made from that type. They're about $1-2 per pen and they come in metallic and milky colors instead of just black if you actually want to use the pen I haven't had any trouble with the paint coming off. What I did was glue on the hemisphers, sand the whole thing, prime them with a plastics primer, then painted them with your tyical acryllic paint out of the tube that you can get at a craft store for $0.75 - 1.00. I bought 4 pens, but ended up making 5 because I discovered that I already had one of those pens at home. *L* I also used that plastics primer on my Jedi comlink... I glued all the bits and pieces to the Gilette shaver, then primed it before painting it silver. That primer really holds well. I got it at Michael's for $2-3 I think. It's just a little bottle, but it's good for small crafts like this.

Hm..am I the only one who does their props 'n stuff without using a primer? Guess so.. Eh, haven't really had paint flaking problems though..except for a couple that I forgot to take off a different belt that I wore to school 'n stuff.. Ah well, I can't put them on my Jedi belt yet anyway, so I have plenty of time to repaint 'n all. For mine, I used the caps off my erasable pens..uh..Paper*Mate brand. I go through so many at school that I have plenty to use as props. ;D
I don't have any of the hemispheres, so I used my favorite clay (Crayola Model Magic modeling clay) to fill in where the eraser was (removed it first) and then to make the rounded bottom. Afterwards, I just spray-painted them silver or gold with several coats of paint. The paint seems to hold well- I bought it from Rag*Shop, so it's crafter's Krylon spray-paint. (Therefore, it's kinda formulated to bond to plastics.) A couple I sanded beforehand, but those seem to actually have a couple of peeling issues, so the rest I didn't sand. I've got seven on my belt currently and don't have problems with the paint rubbing off.. *shrug* Here's a pic that shows a couple finished and the rest in-the-process and description.. www.geocities.com/jedi_sionnatrekina/capsules.html
In some random photos (like those for making my sabre or a pic in the "Holoprojector" section) on my site you can see several of the finished capsules sitting on the table next to my belt. I've got 12 total, six gold and six silver with five of the 12 not currently on the belt. Yet.

I got my Staedtler liquid roller pens at BuyOnlineNow.com for $1.63. And I would recommend not using the primer on them and do not sand them. I did to the first batch I made and they came out rather rough. Then I tried it with out sanding and primer and they turned out sweet! I'll post a picture soon.

Hemispheres 7/16" I think* If you want I can snail mail a bunch of the hemispheres to ya'. I only needed a few of them and I've a LOT left over... Hey Jauhzmynn, do you still have some of those hemispheres left over?
Oh, and Schph, guess what? I found Staedtler Liquid Rollers!! Four on a card for like $4 at Staples. ;D I just bought a set today and will go back later to get some more (since they seemed to be on sale or something cuz the price sign said "$5.99" and when the cashier rung them up they only came to $3.94 or something like that...). Thought I would pass word on about finding them.

my food capsules are really getting beat up....I have been wearing my garb A LOT lately. I did some repair work on them yesterday...but need to make a lot of extras......I lost the hemisphere on one of them.....
I need to go shopping this week...I have some time off from work before I leave for CONvergence....and will have to get on the good foot with making spare capsules....if not for this event...for others.....
