hi guys;
i havent posted here in a while, as ive been rather busy. made my food caps from the steadler pens which i found at our local 99 cent store 2 for 99 cents. i used pearl buttons from joann fabric as they seemed to work better than the hemispheres. glued them in easily. painted the food caps the EP2 colors. steel, copper, silver and gold. yes i have the same problem with the paint coming off, but i repaint after each event. my friend lori sanded hers [that i gave her] and when i repainted them they looked scratched. i didnt use primer just standard model enamel. i am think of coating them with a liquid varathane plastic, but im not sure if that would work. any ideas?

I just re-sprayed the color on mine....then put a clear overcoat on them....I am heading to CONvergence tomorrow....I will let you know how they hold up...
wow...you got your Staedtlers cheap! I went on line..and had to pay a bundle for shipping ...but I could not find the pens around here....I bought eight pens...so I will be working on more capsules....don't think I will sand either....
