Glad to see you're back. Whenever I have a long-term project to do, I always think of the final goal, the reward. That makes the work go faster. Just keep thinking of those two working shoulders and that range of motion the therapy will give you.

:)bows & thank you, I'm sort of back & not sort of back ------yet. The 1st time I attempted coming back was just a bit too soon. My right arm got real achy. So I'm limiting myself on what I do on the computer I feel soooooo out of the loop right now, but I'm coming along, slowly but coming. I just started to go back to rehab my left shoulder again at home---couldn't do much the 1st 2 weeks since I couldn't lay down flat. Still can't lay flat for very long. I was supposed to begin right shoulder therapy this last week but the weather & the force were not with me. I am starting this next coming week. The doctor won't let me remove the sling still I start therapy. I'm right handed but keeping my arm in one position for very long doesn't help. Still having probs with sleeping . I lay down & can rest for about 1 hour. I go to my recliner & get about 2-3 hours sleep but wake up very very stiff. Still on vicadin but able to space it out more. I'm missing everybody. I soooo wanted to go to Conooga but that didn't work out so Quicher & I went on a 2 hr ride to Wisconsin to test to see how things would go--we needed to get away for a day. It almost was not good. I had a great deal of difficulty sleeping in the hotel---I couldn't sit up & sleep or lay down---I think I got about a 1 to 3 hrs rest at most, between taking my meds & I had to keep changing positions by actually getting up & doing so, so that was good I didn't attempt to do Tennessee. I was exhausted by the time we got back home. I figured I'd attempt to at least update TJA & say hi. My arm is now telling me time to stop typing for now. I forsee I won't be doing any canon events for quite awhile but I do hope in a couple of months I can do some Midwest events & maybe attempt to get to Adventure Con. I'm just taking things day by day. May the Force be with everybody. Thank you for all your prayers.

Update Thanks to all who have prayed for me during this time--it's much appreciated believe me. ***bows*** ;D All slings are off ;D. therapy has officially begun on the right shoulder. The left shoulder lost a month because of the surgery but it's coming back slowly & I think the right one is going to get strong quickly. I'm off vicadin YIPEE!!!!!!!!! but on a prescription IBprophih which helps. & I asked the doctor for pain patches--especially for my left shoulder. I'm actually beginning to be able to slowly twirl my Yoda f/x lightsaber around--so I'm making that part of my left shoulder therapy till the right side is ready. I can actually see the light at the end of this long tunnel & I'm almost beginning to feel like a Jedi again---not quite, but soon-----very soon. Of course this Jedi will be doing therapy for at least the whole of this year----minimum, but at least I'll be moving forward . I THANK THE FORCE & QUICHER (she pushed that I should do it instead of putting it off again) THAT I GOT THIS DONE THIS YEAR-- SHOULDERS ARE FINALLY REPAIRED YIPEE YEA!!! -----THANKS BE TO GOD

:)Thank you to all who are sending me well wishes & support. UPDATE: left shoulder: I had xrays yesterday to make sure all is in correct alignment--I've been having some "pinching" issues in the incision area but we've discovered the shoulder is correctly aligned I just have to watch how I do the mechanics of moving my shoulder when I have therapy. My left is almost back to just before right shoulder surgery & I have several more sessions coming so the left shoulder will be moving along, I hope a bit faster. The doctor & I both figured about 1 yr for back to normal, which for me will be a vast improvemnet--I'm at about 6 months right now with the left. Right shoulder--is just in it's baby stages of getting into therapy so it has the long road to go. It feels stronger already & wants to do more but I've got to make myself be careful as to when & how & not over do too soon. A bit difficult when one is right handed. The ;D good thing is I'm really stretching pain meds way out & attemping to use only for therapy. My arm can handle more typing at one time, not aching as badly. AND I'm finally getting some better sleep time, which I was sorely missing, because of having had to get up every 4 hours to take meds. At least now I'm seeing the glimmer of a light at the end of the long tunnel. I did ask the doctor, who checked my left shoulder what I could plan for the future: such as roller coasters, water slides, swimming with dolphins, etc. He said roller coaster were fine, water slides were(I guess he's seen several fractures from people who did that) out & dolphins depended on how the swimming went.---I swam with dolphins in 2000 & loved it. Long before I even had a glimmer of a dream of being a costumer & my husband was alive at the time & got as big a kick our of me swimmng with dolphins as I did doing it. I didn't mention lightsabers but then once I'm stronger I'm not going to be dueling like Master Qui-Kel but hopefully I can twirl a tiny bit like Master Leda(how I wish I could )----I'll most likely be unable to master lightsaber techniques but at least now I'll be able to attempt some which I couldn't even do before. I will attempt to think positive, I have no idea what or how far I'll be able to go. I've started, with my left hand only, twirling my f/x Yoda lightsaber as part of my therapy at home--I'm a bit inconsistant as of yet but the saber feels pretty good when I twirl forwards & backwards. So this Jedi if finally coming along ;D---slowly but moving forward.

Thanks to all for the support. All things are going good with the shoulders but I id have a bit of back slide end of last week, I fell & bumped my right elbow--but not real hard--it did scare me. I'm going on Monday after Easter to get it xrayed to make sure all is in the correct place, just for peace of mind. My therapist said that if I'd done anything I'd have been in the er instead of therapy. I'm really not sure how hard I can bump either shoulder without doing damage to them.

I had the xray today to see if my right shoulder is ok because of the bump & thank goodness all is well. The biggest prob I have right now is the left shoulder near the incision--from what my therapist can figure out--the piece in my shoulder is in the correct place but the area, which was "frozen" caused me to have scar tissue & adhesions so this area is very tender when I do therapy---only constant therapy is going to get it stronger & eventually, I hope, that pain will go away.
Otherwise both shoulder are getting stronger each day. I sure hope I don't have any more setbacks.

Glad to hear that the bump wasn't anything serious! Now it looks like your shoulder need lots of therapy and large helping of Jedi patience.

:)Thank you & ditto on that Ani. I'm definitely moving forward--thank the Force. The other day I had my 1st chance to sit down at my sewing machine since last fall & do some hemming & actually fix the sleeves on a tunic that I'm wearing at home. Boy did that feel nice. I've got several projects to do on the sewing machine---all Jedi but the arms felt good.
I'm also noticing I can stay on the computer much longer without aching.
I am sleeping more regularly & not having to get up to sleep in the chair. I'm not needing pain meds much but I do take them for therapy because it does help. I do have to REMIND myself very STRONGLY that I cannot use my right arm too much to soon---it sort of wants to take over since I'm right hand dominant--control I must maintain control & let my left do much more then my right for at least another 2 months.
It is definitely testing my Jedi patience & persistance on a daily basis.
I'm hoping to be about 40-60% by Adventure Con & hopefully 80-90% by Dragon Con if I do my therapy & behave myself this summer.
I'm sooooooo very glad I've got these 2 shoulders completely done so that I can hopefully do some major traveling in the hopefully not tooooo distant future.
I am going to a friend's daughter's wedding in May & that will be in San Diego. Should prove to be interesting when I go through security for the 1st time since surgery. My one surgeon is going to give me a card about the shoulder implant it's made out of titanium. Also will be intersting to see how sitting for 4 hours on a plane will affect my arms. I have luggage that has 4 wheels on it so that will be a help.

I'm hoping I'm not back sliding. I did bump my right shoulder, it got xrayed & it's ok but I also bumped something else & I'm going to go to get it checked to see what happened. My left knee is very painful right now & I know it's related to the slight fall I had when I bumped my right shoulder---so I hope the knee is ok.
