Well, I've said it before, and say it again- - Military Surplus! I picked up an old Swedish cartridge pouch from a show for my Jedi Utility Belt, and I had people at the "cons" asked me who made it.
Remember, before they had the budget, what do think was used in the Triology?

I decided to have a go at trying to make some first, before I shell out the credits for someone else to make them. I have had no luch at my local surplus and army/navy stores. Just nylon ones... and they don't look very authentic. I will try to make some from a pattern that the Leather Factory offers (model #46040-00) for $16.99. Fortunately, I have a store nearby, so I can check it out to see if it will work. It isn't as fancy as the authentic ones, but I can dye it easier to match my belt (all parts from the same source). You can view the kit at www.leatherfactory.com/index.asp?Style=SingleWebItem&Code=3851I hope this link works. Otherwise, from their main page, click, Kits, then Tooling and Carving Kits, then Cases and Pouches. The kit should be on page 5. I'll update everyone on how this works out. As has been stated elsewhere, anything goes!

I just realized I posted my last message twice... can't remember how I managed that.
Well, I made two large pouches from kits I bought at the Leather Factory. They turned out great. I was able to dye them to match my belt. It doesn't look like the movie props, but they turned out great! If I ever bother getting a digital camera, maybe I'll post some pics. I am just going to stick with the two large one, instead of the one large and two small, although these kits would be easy to modify.
The Leather Factory also does mail order, so you can get anything you need to make your belt and pouches. I have also seen their products (Tandy Leather) at hobby stores like Jo Ann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. Check them out. As I have found out, working with leather really isn't that difficult... only if you really want to do some really hard projects.

MY POUCHES ARRIVED!!! I am really impressed with the quality. The sculpt and the finish are perfect and really do resemble leather. The resin seems to be very durable, though I don't duel so I may not be the best judge if they would hold up under those types of rigors. The mechanism that allows the pouches to open is very functional and well thought-out. That's my two-cents-worth, anyway.

Im glad your pouches turned out so well, but i am large jedi and would be afraid of crushing them. For those of you who are trying to get the leather ones. we need to email paul and see if he is still in business or not. I have already done so. Anyone else?

Yeah, like I said earlier I pretty much just wear my costume and I don't duel. I get enough of that in my job so I can pass on it in my hobby. ;D I'm not the best judge for how they would stand up to dueling rigors, but they look good.

Paul is still in business - he and his wife just had a new baby boy a week or so ago - so he is busy being the new dad and helping with his other son - it may take a while but Paul will get back to you Dave

Kai Rhann's been pretty clear that the buckles are different, and that he's just offering options for people who aren't duplicating exact costumes worn by specific actors in a movie. I did hear though (spoiler warning):
In Ep III Anakin starts the duel with Obi Wan because Obi Wan had the wrong hardware on his belt.
