I think we needed a place to trade SW themed recipes, and it seemed that the Cantina would be the perfect place. And, since it was my idea, I'll start.
My recipe, I learned from Luke Skywalker, who learned it from Jedi Master Yoda.
Rootleaf Stew
This recipe serves 8 hungry young Jedi
3 pouds lean lamb or other meat (I use venison or beef) Salt to taste, if desired Freshly ground pepper to taste 6 tablesthingys oil (light corn, vegetable or other) 6 cups finely chopped parsley (I use 2 Tablesthingys) 3 cups thinly sliced onions 1 tablesthingy finely chopped garlic 2 teasthingys ground coriander 2 teasthingys ground cumin 1 teasthingy ground turmeric 2 tablesthingys finely minced ginger root (1 tbsp. ground ginger) 1 teasthingy finely chopped seeded hot green or red chilies 1/4 teasthingy ground cardamom 1/4 teasthingy ground cinnamon 1/4 teasthingy ground cloves 1 bay leaf 3 pounds fresh spinach, well rinsed, tough stems removed
1) Cut the meat into 1" (one inch) cubes; add salt and pepper to taste. 2) Heat half the oil in a heavy skilet and add the meat until the pieces turn brown on all sides. 3) Heat the remaining oil in a Dutch oven or heavy casserole and add parsley, onions, and garlic. Cook, stirring often, until the onions are wilted. Add the meat, coriander, cumin, turmeric, ginger root, chilies, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir. 4) Add water to cover, bring to boil and cover tightly. Let simmer about 2 to 2 1/2 hours until the meat is quite tender. 5) Meanwhile, drop the spinach into a kettle of boiling water with salt to taste and let simmer about 5 minutes. Drain well and run under cold water. Drain thoroughly. 6) Squeeze the spinach to remove all excess liquid. Place the spinach on a chopping block and chop coarsely. 7) Add the spinach to the stew and stir. Let simmer together about 5 minutes. Yield: 8 servings.
Its really good, but I never use the 6 CUPS of parsley, mostly because its an excessive amount to me.
Anyone have any others?

not me....that is what "Lean Cuisine" is for! lol...
seriously....I cook twice a year....
once a year I make a batch of vegetarian chili for our big-mid winter Resource Management Volunteer workday....
and the other time I cook is when I have a ton of peppers in my garden...I make stuffed green peppers...and that is it!
cook.....hmmmmmm.....where DID I put that stove!

Here's a chili recipe for those cold Coruscant nights..

Ingredients:
1 to 2 lbs very lean Ground Beef (Top sirloin or better, or you may subsitute shredded beef)
Three or more of the following (3 is usually the best); Pinto beans, navy beans, kidney beans, red beans, black beans, white beans....cooked (if canned, 18 oz cans each, or more, depending on taste)
1 can of beer (not light)
Hot V-8 vegetable thingytail, large can
tomatoe paste 8 four once cans
4 whole tomatoes, or 2 cans stewed or diced tomatoes
6 Lrg pickeled Jalepenos (or more,DOT)
4 tbsp chili powder ============================ marinade beef in beer overnight, then simmer for 1 hour - drain
Place all ingredients in a large kettle or pot, making sure that the Jalepenos are chopped Other Items you may want to add: finely shredded carrot, chopped onion, pressed garlic.
Now comes the dangerous part: To make somewhat hot: add 4-5 tablesthingys Habanero sauce To make very hot: add 4-5 tablesthingys Mayan style Habanero sauce To kill someone: add 4-5 tablesthingys Piquin sauce (this is one of the hottest peppers in the world- 100 times hotter than a Jalepeno)
Let simmer for 6 to 8 hours. Top with chopped red onion and/or sharp cheddar cheese.
For safety reasons, keep plenty of cold milk on hand. If you really want to look Klingon, use the Piquin sauce recipe, but when no one is looking, put a pat of butter in your mouth and coat it. This prevents most of the pepper oils from burning your mouth.

Soup for when you've run out of dataris, Take about 6-8 potatoes, a couple of onions, a few carrots, a couple of stalks of celery,a can of creamed corn,a can of evaporated milk, some butter or margerine- about 2or 3 tbsp,a little salt & pepper and a bay leaf. Peel and cut potatoes in long quarters then slice in thick slices about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, chop the onions, slice the carrots & the celery into 1/2 inch pcs. Add about 6 cups of water to pot,bring to boil, add potatoes,carrots,celery onions,bay leaf,salt & pepper,lower heat, cook till veggies are tender,add cream corn,evaporated milk and the butter. Simmer till heated through. Good with a really dark bread (like pumpernickel) and butter and a salad too. Great on a cold day. I play around with amounts,depending on the store of local currencies in my pouch.

OK so here is a great bundt cake garnish!!! Yah take one Kiwi fruit I plastic Boba Fett acton Fig and gummy worms Cut teh Kwi in half put in center of bundt cake take boba put him in teh opening and put the tentecal gummy worms aroud teh cake!! Walla Sarlac cake LOL

I was a scratch cook for many decades. I cooked three meals a day......so I am with schph.....LEAN CUISINE...all the way.....I vowed to myself that my next house wouldn't even have a kitchen... ...but I do have some great recipes.......

Love to cook, but mostly do it for large groups of medievalists now, this was a favourite recipe in that bunch. Fruited chicken, Take cut-up chicken pcs, wash in cold water, pat dry. Dip chic pts. in beaten eggs, then roll in flour that has been mixed w/ following spices, ground blk pepper, cinnamon, cloves, ginger (to taste), also salt if you use it. Try about 1/2 teasp. of each to about 2 cups of flour. After breading, fry or bake chicken pcs till nearly done, reccomend PAM the pan either way first, baking is much less greasy and has lower calories. Remove chicken and set aside, add about 3 or 4 tblsp. of vinagar to pan to deglaze, add about 1 1/2 cups water, and approx. 2 cups of dried friut (apricots, pears, apples, pitted prunes, golden raisins, fruit should be cut into small pcs. but not diced) and about 1/2 cup of honey, simmer a few minutes till hot and beggining to thicken, add chicken pcs, cook until chicken is done, sauce should be thick, chicken very tender, serve with plenty of sauce on the plate, is good w/couscous. This has always been a crowd pleaser. I've cooked it for as many as 140 people, no complaints from any.

Oh hear is one that my friend just told me about. London Fog tea. You warm up youre milk put in a teasthingy or so of vanilla then steap youre tea in it. She says it is fabulous.

yeah, that does sound good, have to try it sometime. I like tea with pieces of candied ginger in it, especially good if you have a cold, or an upset stomach, ginger is good for calming nausea, that works best with a mild tea, or a lemon tea. But if you have a cold, in Red Zinger tea, it really helps relieve congestion, especially in the chest and throat.

ok...here is my recipe for Lean Cuisine...
go to freezer...remove package... remove plastic tray from box... poke holes in plastic sheet on top
disregard all package directions about stirring mid-way through cooking, 50% power and all that...go straight to high power for 6 minutes....
voila' done..... ;D
