I seriously doubt that George would do somthing like this, he is very protective of what he has done, the only things he ever done to the original was to "finish" his work as he put it. This would not make it better, and I would think he would no this I feel this is probibly an internet hoax. And as far as the original subject of this thread, he's a heck of alot better then Leo De"Crap"reo who was rumored early on as having the part. Opps that's right Jedi aren't suppose to hate, we're suppose to be above that, sorry

Leo, well, so far he's been in several movies that have been oscar nominated in every catagory except his, think Titanic and Gangs of NY. I think his acting ability is between zip & zilch and I might be female, but I don't think it matters, he can't act.

I think Hayden did a great job as Anakin... He did just what George wanted him to do.. In EpII Anakin is angery and feels helpless that he couldn't save his mother, frustrated by Obi-wan holding him back, love sick for his forbidden love...and to top it all off a teenager! Remember what it was like to be a teenager? oy vay! Oh, did I mention that he is also HOT! Major crush here and I'm too old for crushes! Those devilish looks he gives..wow!....Ok, I'll behave...

The part in AOTC where I liked Annakin the best is in the droid facctory when his lightsaber gets trashed and he says, "Not again. Obi-wan's gonna kill me." He's in trouble and he knows it.
Otherwise, he's on edge all the time and not very likeable....as I said somewhere else, a hormone bomb. He's so hard to like; he's all friction. It makes perfect sense in the story because he hasn't been sleeping well, which would just make him more irritable. It just would have been nice to see a little more of him and Obi-wan getting along better.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Palpatine was behind Shmi's kidnapping. Makes perfect sense, since that's the tactic that Darth Vader used on Luke in TESB. That would certainly explain why the Old Republic Jedi separate Force sensitive children from their families. They weren't just being stuffy traditionalists; they're removing blackmail potiential.

I honestly don't think Annakin's annoying, angry stomping around has much to do with Hayden; he was just playing the part the way Lucas directed him. I noticed in the DVD commentary that they added the first elevator scene with Obi-wan and Annakin after the rest of the film was done because otherwise you just saw the two of them arguing all the time. So, I think they noticed that they might have gone a little far with the angry teenager bit.
I suppose it is also possible that Darth Vader just got the idea of using Han, Leia and Chewie to lure in Luke because he knows it worked on him as Annakin. But the absolutely worst case scenario for Annakin would be that Palpatine did have a hand in Shmi's death, Annakin finds out about it and he STILL goes over to the dark side.
Palpatine spent YEARS working on Annakin while he was consolodating his own power base and undermining the whole Jedi Order. The emperor must have been supremely confident in his dark-sidedness when he tried to turn Luke with just one knock-down fight with his father. It was that or he just thought of Luke as a rube off the farm (well, he actually was) and easily manipulated. Palaptine underestimated Padme in the same way in TPM.

Agreed! ROTS should provide a lot of interesting answers.... and I have always liked Hayden's performance....same with Jake Lloyd...

This would not make it better, and I would think he would no this I feel this is probibly an internet hoax. I hate to break the news, but that image was not doctored, but a movie still from the DVD boxset, because Lucas did re-work the scene to include Hayden Christensen as the Ghost of Anakin. (The Following Rant is not directed at any one person) Lucas isn't protective of his work at all (and lets be honest, ROTJ isn't even his film. He never directed it) The fact is Lucas can't write decent dialogue, and he's an extremely bad director. Any decent performances were down to fantastically talented actors giving good performances regardless of the directions. Lucas is a bad director. His re-working of the films isn't a perfectionist trying to finish a project, a perfectionist would do it right the first time (Think of Natalie Portman's foot slip in TPM... Any decent director would have reshot the scene, but Lucas is just too lazy) The reworking is a mediocre director using new technology to alter (to try and distract from his failings) something. Another good example is his re-work of THX (which I admit I haven't seen in either form) He's only doing it because he can, and because he's too stupid and lazy to come up with a new idea. You wouldn't ever see Ridley Scott acting like Lucas has.

cough*Hannibal*cough LOL However i think it's safe to say Hayden proved with ROTS why he was the best man for the job. If only Episode two had had a great script, good direction... a story... action... anything remotely resembling ANYTHING GOOD!!!!!

I thought Haydens acting was pretty good too myself. It fite in perfectly with how he was going to go to the darkside.

I don't mind Haydens acting that bad, i mean he has a problem showing some emotions. The main problem with me is the anakin in episode one. GL portrayed him as a boy without problems, he was perfect basicly. In the original script and books however he would get in fights after podracing and that shows that he had a dark side. Then in episode two lucas shows him as being arrogant and self centered. In my opinion he should have showed or given hints of him turning to the dark side in all three instead of throwing it all in to episode 2 and 3. And for some reason it may be just me, but anakin did not play a big role in episode 1 that i thought he would. It revolved around obiwan too much if you ask me.(oh and he was going through puberty. Trust me im sixteen, and it is hard controlling yourself, especially when you can't hardly ever see your girlfriend)

If you watch the cut scene in Phantom there is a scene with Anakin fighting Greedo. Lucas just didn't put that scene in for whatever reason.
