My favorite part had to be when Yoda fought Dooku... no one messes with the Master! When Yoda came on screen for the fight, everyone started cheering and whistling, and when he reached for his lightsaber, someone even yelled, "seeeexy!". It was funny.
Jonathan's new fav quote is, "Why do I get the feeling you'll be the death of me yet?" Or something to that effect. I don't know what mine is yet, but I thought it was funnier when OB1 started panicking, "Pull up!" LOL
So what did you think when C3PO started yelling, "Die, die jedi! Oh dear, what am I saying?" Everyone in our audience laughed. And why didn't anyone tell me R2 had rockets?

If you want my honest honest opinion... I thought the movie kinda sucked...... The dialog was just to... ICK! the graphics just couldn't make up for a horrible script. I'm sorry.

Actually, I thought the dialog was MUCH better in this movie. The pacing of the movie and the edits were excellent too. It does take a few viewings to really take it all in though (we saw it 3 times today). Overall, I was very happy with the movie!
There really is a lot going on behind the scenes/between the lines in this movie. I'll need a little while to absorb the implications of it all, but Lucas has definitely set up the next movie well.
And my favorite line is from Yoda............"It seems that Master Kenobi has lost a planet. How embarrassing." Go Yoda!!!!!

I almost think it moved to fast in the begining. The scenes were sevearly short. As far as dialog comparison. I didn't think E1 was that bad. obi-wans and Anakins needed a little work in E1 but in E2 everyone has pretty crumby lines. heck I give Mace Windo as having the best lines.. and I hate the character. Okay well Yoda was ok too..... maybe after I see it a few times I'll like it. The Phantom Menace took me like 4 or 5 showings to really get into it.

Ok, TPM had the best dialog in any SW movie, IMO. (That sentance looks funny.) But I didn't think this one was that bad. Well, Anakin's dialog stunk, and Padmé's was border-line. But the other characters were pretty good.

I think that Hayden did a great job portraying Anakin, but I did not like Natalie at all. She was very flat the entire movie. Ewan on the other hand was terrific!!! The way Obi-Wan stared down Jango on Kamino, all with a little smile in his eyes.................awesome!! Obi-Wan really develops in this movie. And Yoda..........he was funny, and completely awesome when he became serious.
I have to say that the more I see the movie (we've seen it four times already), the more I like it. As I have said before, the is a lot going on in this movie!
Anyone up to an in depth plot discussion?? Please??
How did you like the movie Xana? Tanthos?

Yeah, Obi-Wan develops alright... into a wimp. Then again, I never really liked his character, so what do I know?
I've never done "an in-depth plot discussion," but I'll try.

OBI-WAN A WIMP? ?? Are you crazy? If anyone is a wimp in this movie its Anakin! "Obi-Wan doesn't understand"...."It's all Obi-Wan's fault"..."In many ways, I've passed him." Whine, whine, whine. Just like Luke, but at least Luke doesn't turn to the Dark Side and manages to grow up. It seems that our discussion has started though. Yippee!!!!!!! I need to talk to someone besides Solorad about the movie.

LOL He (Solorad) probably feels the same way. ;D
Yes, Obi-Wan is a wimp, and so is Anakin. (I never said he wasn't, did I?) But it's in different ways. Anakin is... emotionally unstable? And Obi-Wan is physically a wimp. He's always loosing, or getting saved by his apprentice. Come on, he almost got his butt kicked by Jango Fett, of all people. And is it just me, or did he get captured by droidekas? Not a living being, a droid. What Jedi gets captured by droids? Therefore, he's a wimp (IMO).
PS Maybe this is a bad place to bring this up, but what's with all the girl's falling in love with OB1? What the heck is attractive about a guy like that?

Okay, time to set you straight Eqin! First, whatever you meant by that comment, Solorad and I spend a lot of time talking to each other, and we both enjoy it! It just nice to have a different opinion about things, since the two of us agree so much. Sorry, but I was offended by your comment. I am really tired of people assuming that because people are married, all they do is nag or yell at each other and don't enjoy normal, intelligent, stimulating conversations. And now for something entirely different................ Obi-Wan is NOT always losing!!! Jango DID NOT beat him. Jango took off. If he had stuck around, than Obi-Wan would have killed him. And I'm sorry if you have any doubts about that, but look at what he did to that spider thing. Obi-Wan isn't afraid of ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, Jango tries to kill him in the asteroid field. Did it work............NO! Obi-Wan completely outclassed him with his piloting skills. I mean, come on, how many laser bolts to you have to fire to hit something? He sure hit lots of asteroids, but it took way too long to hit Obi-Wan's starfighter ONCE!! Next, Anakin did save him from Dooku, but if Anakin had kept his head together then Obi-Wan wouldn't have been put into the situation he was. Also, Dooku has FAR more experience as a Jedi than Obi-Wan and was trained by Yoda, so it figures that Dooku would be more powerful. That's why Obi-Wan says that he needs Anakin's help in the fight. He doesn't back down from the fight, he just realizes that he is not strong enough yet to win the fight on his own. That's not wimpiness or cowardice, that's intelligence. Which Anakin seems to completely lack!! During the fight with Dooku, Anakin gets blasted with Dooku's force lightening, but Obi-Wan deals with it easily. He also fights much better against Dooku than Dooku expected, no matter what he might have said to Obi-Wan. That's a common tactic, to bluff an enemy into thinking they have weaknesses where none exist. And Obi-Wan did not buy it! Again, how is that wimpy? He could have backed down, but no, he continued the fight!! Finally, Obi-Wan did get wounded in the fight, but not badly. His stupid apprentice had his arm cut off!! As for getting caught by a destroyer droid, you don't know that there was only one. The transmission was cut off! There could have been 20, and a bunch of battle droids, and Geonosians!! Come on, you're making a huge assumption! Do you think that they would send only one droid after a Jedi? The Trade Federation learned that would be stupid indeed during TPM! And Dooku would have an idea of Obi-Wan's abilities. If Obi-Wan was outnumbered, he may have surrendered instead of fighting a futile fight. That way he could gather more information, instead of just being dead. He's a Jedi, but that does not mean that he is invincible. Still think Obi-Wan is a wimp? If you do, then you definitely have a weird definition of the word!! Finally, not all the girls are in love with Obi-Wan. I don't love him (I love Solorad!!! ), at least not in the way you are suggesting!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the character, he is an awesome Jedi, and I think Ewan does a marvelous job portraying him.

I have to agree with everything Shoshana is saying. Theres more to fighting then using just brute force. You have to be smart when you fight. If you go in without any sort of plan your going to get at the very least get hurt if not loose the fight. As Anakin demonstrated and as I have learned countless times in sparring class...... If you dont have a plan your butts going down.
And while I think Ewan is a hot guy Obi-wan isn't exactly the guy material I'd want..... Maul would be my first pick followed by Qui-Gon..... Obi-Wan is like 3rd or 4th on my list.. of star wars characters though.... lol.... I wont go into the list of just plan actors.... Obi-Wan i think would bairly make top 10....
As for Shoshana's comments about loving her hubby. I can't agree with you there hun lol. He's your hubby not mine lol. You can keep him. And no i'm not trying to say he's a dork or anything. He's acctually really cool. I just don't love him... but thats a good thing right? ;D lol

Hehehe...........I'm glad that you are not part of his fan club!! Believe it or not, and maybe I'm just being jealous, but he seems to gather a small crowd of female admirers wherever he works. I certainly think he is handsome , but it gets awfully annoying ! Thankfully, he is usually oblivious and naive about the whole thing. Hmm....I love my hubby!!!! The ickyness will now stop ;D!!

WARNING!! Do not take anything in this post personally. This is just a friendly debate about Obi-Wan.Still think Obi-Wan is a wimp? If you do, then you definitely have a weird definition of the word!! Yeah, we do seem to have a slightly different definition. wimp: 1 a coward 2 a weakling, bad fighter, etc. Both are definitions of the word, but the latter is used more frequently where I live.
In the fight with Jango, I didn't say Obi-Wan was beaten, but /almost/ beaten. And in the astroid field, he didn't outclass Jango with his piloting skills, Boba was the one flying. The only reason he got away was 'cause he was smart enough to eject the spare parts. (I'll give him credit for that, he's usually smart.)
In the fight with Dooku, you said pretty much what I meant. He wasn't a coward, but he wasn't a good fighter either. I don't mean I think he should've been able to beat Dooku, just that they made him seem wimpy 'cause he lost so quickly.Obi-Wan did get wounded in the fight, but not badly. Then why didn't he get back up and try to keep fighting after Anakin was beaten? (Just random wondering, this isn't part of my argument... yet )As for getting caught by a destroyer droid, you don't know that there was only one. True, I was making an assumption, but I thought I warned you when I wrote that part.If Obi-Wan was outnumbered, he may have surrendered instead of fighting a futile fight. Surrender? That doesn't sound very brave now does it. (To heck with smart here. I've been in fights, and I know from experiance that it's /way/ too easy to do the 'smart' thing for that to be considered much /but/ cowardice.)Finally, not all the girls are in love with Obi-Wan. I don't love him (I love Solorad!!! ), at least not in the way you are suggesting!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the character, he is an awesome Jedi, and I think Ewan does a marvelous job portraying him. Not quite what I meant...And while I think Ewan is a hot guy Obi-wan isn't exactly the guy material I'd want.....Closer to what I meant... I should have said, why do all the girls (mostly teenagers) think Obi-Wan is hot/cute/whatever? What is so hot/cute/whatever about him?
Sry about the husband joke. I was just kidding... I will never joke again. ::pretends to be ashamed of self, but can't keep it up and starts laughing::
