I know they can't edit the OT again to include him (unless they include his ghost with the ghosts of Young Anakin, Yoda and Obi-Wan) but I was thinking, that in all honesty, what happened to him shouldn't've been fatal... Luke had his hand cut off in ESB and still managed to hang onto the bottom of Cloud City until his friends could help him. He was then subjected to repeated blasts of Force Lightning on the 2nd Death Star. Now, I admit, Master Windu was hit for about 20 seconds with the Force Lightning, but he was then flung out of the window... I'm not too sure exactly how high up that office was, but I'd guess well over 1000 meters. If unconscious, he might have fallen onto a passing speeder, (as Leeloo did in Fifth Element) or, given the length of the fall, he might have been conscious and been able to use the Force to slow his descent to a surviveable rate... Any thoughts?

I belive he could have survived. There's so much traffic he'd fall into someone's speeder most defiantly. He's obviously tuffer then Luke so why not.

I think that if he had survived, he would have shown up and gotten medieval on Anakin and Palpatine before Obi Wan or Luke got a chance to. But seriously, I do think that he could have survived the fall. The novelisation says that he's dead... but he's just too d**n cool to die in my opinion ;D

I pretty much agree - Windu took what Luke had later - if Luke could survive, Windu could survive...

Although Palpatine was always powerful he was infact older when he shot Luke with his force lightining. Along with the fact that it had most likely been a while since he let out his anger so obiviously windu got the full blast of the Dark Lord of the sith.(You also notice how much he strained since he had a sigh of relief after he blew windu out the window.)

i dont think he would of lived either, partly because because windu did obviously get the full blast of the dark lord and he was not exactly expecting to be betrayed and thrown out a window by anakin, luke had a little more prep time, jumped by choice, and did not get the force lightning at the same time of losing his hand, im sorry if im kinda wrong about luke. i havent watched 5 in a very long time

Windu just had a bad night, while luke got himself ready to expect anything. Also i just remebered yoda warned luke not to underestimate the emperor. Windu might have said to himself, "oh this guy's 80 yrs old, 4 jedi against 1 sith...no prob

I agree with Andle. If Mace had even survived Yoda would have known it. Obviously when Yoda told Luke to not underestimate palpatine he (yoda) felt Mace kick the bucket.

Another point to go along with that, is when Luke was getting shocked the emperor did it in burst, such as he would shock him and say, young fool, only now at the end do you understand. Mace however, never got a break and was already tired from blocking the first long blast.

I'm not so sure, afterall, Yoda had been in Palpatine's presence many times, and never realized that he was a Sith Lord... When he felt the deaths of the Jedi, and Obi-Wan felt the deaths of Alderaan, that was a lot of people dying at one time, I don't think he would have felt a single death. However, I'm still not convinced that what happened to Master Windu would have necessarily been fatal...

I can understand that, yoda couldn't have felt every single jedi but still, as mace windu was falling I doubt he would have had the concentration to use the force and lower his decent rate(I would have been screaming like a little girl ;D) and I also think the chances of him falling into a speeder is slim, maybe getting hit by several before he hit the ground. Kinda funny if you picture that in your head.

In RotS, Yoda felt Mace's death in the Force.

In RotS, Yoda felt Mace's death in the Force. He did? Was that in the movie, or the novelization? I admit, he probably was supposed to have been killed by what happened, I was just looking at it from the perspective as (had it not been a plot point) it should have been a surviveable event

There are many ways to learn the ways of the Force, but only those who have joined it may know best.

Considering Anakin's free falling from AOTC, I think that Mace, a Jedi Master would have still had enough sense about him to be able to control his descent
