My belt has been done. Pouches too. I finally finished the buckle. I tried it all on with the saber and plop! The saber is too heavy. How do you keep from loosing your belt? I don't want to make another saber, I have made too many. Is there a way to prevent it from happening? Besides gaining weight? Help and ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Humm, you might need to tighten your belt up. How is it kept on?

I had an old duty belt that had the plastic closures. The kind you snap together. Does that make sense? Black ones. Sometimes has a hole in the middle for added security. Ok, so I can't explain well.

That was good enough. Have more confidence in yourself AZ. It goes a LONG way.;-)
I'm not too sure how I'd take that type of belt in.

Thanks JE. I do have confidence. Just sometimes I get lost for words. I know what I want to say, just finding the right ones are difficult sometimes. But I am sure it's true for most people.

Sounds like backpack buckles, what's the belt made from?

I have a bit of a problem with the belt sagging from the lightsaber. My belt is adjustable, so it means I have to tighten it. From your description, I think the buckle I've used is the same as yours.
The belt DOES have to fit quite tightly.

Yes, you can call it a back pack buckle. I have smaller versions of it on my brief case, or purse as my wife calls it, I take to work.
The belt is made from leather. I think it's 1/16th thick. I honestly don't remember.
You would think living in AZ there would be someone who works in leather besides shoe shops. I called 35 shoe repair stores to see if they could help or recommend anyone. Not one single store could.

What about online leather sites like theleatherstore.com or tandy.com
They have belt blanks(The wide and narrows) even the rviets.:-) It reminds me to get some$ so I can order my belt rivets.

I ordered from Tandy....some buckle blanks for my Imperial Officer...they sell a lot of stuff! I requested a catalog when I ordered my buckles...they do have quite a lot.....
My belt also sags....when I have all three pouches on and stuffed with things like a camera, keys, money, credit card, and lightsaber on....well....the belt starts to hang in the proximity of my knees....
that is one of the reasons I don't use my homemade lightsaber....it is REALLY heavy...
My belt is unusual....it is fully adjustable...but is held in place in an unusual manner ...so I have to take off the belt from time to time and tighten it up.....
there seems to be a LOT of adjusting stuff when in Jedi Garb....

I don't know. Maybe I am being to picky. There is just a certain way that I would like to have things done and feel a certain way. I can keep experimenting with ideas until it's all good.

I know what you mean... but it just kills me when you see in the movies the Jedi fighting and all their stuff kinda stays in place...all I gotta do is walk around and things end up all over the place....lol....
lots of pins, velcro.....and maybe the force....

Maybe a Jedi back pack will be better than a belt.

I actually made a backpack out of the same fabric as one of my tunics, I use it to carry my robe when it's to warm to wear it, it saort of blends right in. My belts are fully adjustable, wear it tight, it should stay up, but you'll know you've got it on. As for backpacks, it does mention something like them in the novels from time to time, so I guess that'll be ok, if they blend in with the garb.

ooooooohhhhhhhh.....that is a good idea....or maybe like a little bag thingy....like Chewbacca....made out of the tunic fabric...or robe fabric......something to hold all the "stuff"....and not weigh the belt down....
