Hmmm...color coded Jedi? That must be something from the RPG...or elsewhere in the EU. I don't really buy into that sort of thing (though I play the RPG and so on).
In a recent release from Wizards of the Coast entitled "The Power of the Jedi" sourcebook, (I think that's the title), it has new sub-classes of Jedi. Originally there were only "Jedi Guardian" and "Jedi Consular"...now there are several new ones including "Jedi Healer" "Jedi Scholar" and "Jedi Weapons Master"... each having their own unique quirks.
I'd have to check further to see about the "color codes", but it seems a bit much to me...

Here it is; originally posted by Jauzhmynn at TF.N.....
-------------------
"I finally found out from a friend what the markers(Color bands or beads) mean on a braid. She got all of this from various sources. LOTS fo books.:-) I do NOT know if it's "Canon", but it can explain some things of the skills of Obi Wan, Qui Gon and Anakin.
Yellow band----New beginnings as a Padawan. This is applied right after being choosen as a Padawan(before 16 standard years old.)
Beads or other color bands represent the Padawan's area/s of study. Possibly woven along the braid. The yellow band at the top and the Red band at the bottom.
Red band after 16 standard years old means he/she is starting on the road for gaining of wisdom and knowledge.
White-------Healer Blue--------Mechanics Red---------Pilot Green-------Living Force Yellow------Lightsaber/and other weapons Black-------Jedi version of Covert Operations.
Anakin Skywalker had red and blue bands. Menchanics and piloting. BOTH of which he excels at.
Obi Wan as a Padawan had red /yellow bands,(I might be wrong). Those would mean he studied piloting and weapons skills. Both he is good with. "
-------------------------
Hope that helps! ;D

Hiya!
I have also read info about the robes and talbards of the Jedi classes also being color coded.
The Healers wore Pale blue tunics and blue robes.
Some wore blue talbards and brown robes, if they held more than one class.
Here are the ones that I can come up with at the moment.
(colors indicated are for robes/tunics)
Artificer: (Black/Golden Yellow)These are engineers, inventors Healer: (Blue/Pale Blue) Diplomat: (Brown/Cream) Contemplative(Scholar): (Green/White) Those who study the Force
I am making a set where the tunics are cream and tan and I have blue talbards and obi belt.
(I might make a blue robe once I find the right material.)
Enjoy! ;D Ris'sa

I think in "The Approaching Storm" they mentioned that the healers wear blue, in reference to Bariss. But I might be off on that, I'm way overdue on sleep.

[glow=blue,2,300]Hi all, Ris'sa is the one who did the leg work ,finding all the goodies about the Padawan braids band/beads color meaning. Where she found it, I don't know, it came from LOTS of sources. So she gets the credit and a huge thansk goes toher again for passing it to me when I needed it. [/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300] Cool! I had no clue each world's jedi ahd a differant color of garment after being a Knight. Now question, Since there are colors for variosu occupations(Healer, engineer etc) how can you tell their "Occupation AND planet orgion? Example, a Bespin Jedi engineer? I had NO clue what I had showed planatary orgions. I just choose the colors b/c I liked how they looked. As to my costume, I have one that can make me appear as a Jedi of Corellia. I've a white under tunic, cream over tunic, forest green suead Tabbords, black pants, belt, pouches and an emerald green velvet coak. I also have a Cruscant jedi "uniform". White under tunic, cream over, black pants, belt, pouches, cream tabbords and the brown chocoalte robe. Mynn [/glow]

Well from what i gather, on planatary uniformsm designation is shone on belt stripes or with stripes around the cuff of your robe. Its my opinion that the cuff stripes would be ugly so i stuck to belt stripes.
By the way my Outfit is that of a Corillian jedi of the new republic, its same design as Luke Skywalkers but is ofcourse forest green
