ANy time Shph, I'm thinking of doing a Corelian jedi. I like the green colors.I won't do an Aldeberan,m cuz white gets SO dirty.(Although a snow white robe would look cool.)

That sounds cool Mynn Id like to see it when you get it done. I saw a pic of a lady in the SSWS that has all green Jedi stuff it looks diffrent but I like it.
I'm trying to fig out what to make for Draxxus he wants soemthing totaly diffrent from anyone. Ugh!!! something I'm thinking kinda EU. He is doing has this thing for Rouge Jedi that likes to make his own rules and not follow all teh rules exactly. Whatever I say I just look at him and say uhhh!! any Ideas.

I was very excited when I read about the color of the bands on the braid. I have a braid. I hadn't ever noticed what Obi Wan had in Ep I, but I did catch Anakin's. I tried copying his colors. Then decided when out of costume to use any color. However I don't like the band in the middle of the braid. It causes the hair to break and stick out of the braid. I have trimmed the braid once since may ( I kept the 4" braided piece I cut off) and it is now a couple inches past my shoulders. Does anyone know if there is a certain length it should be?

Hi Jen, I don't think there's a specific length of braid. Obi Wan had a very long one while Anakin didn't. It might be O bi's was much longer cuz he was growing it since he was born.(Younglings have little braids starting.) I think it can be any length you want. Mine is actually attached to my own hair. My own hair is 7inches long, the extension is about 12 inches long. I have a way of attching it to my own hair so it doesn't come off even with a good tug. In case some flirty male decided to yank my Padawan braid. None's pulled it but they have played with it. Note: Use DMC embrody floss or the bands. Easy to work with and easy on your hair, if won't break the hair off. I put the red and yellow bands at the place were my real hair and extension meet. It's s tad difficult to descibe HOW I attach the two, you almost have to see me do it. It takes a few minutes to wrap it around. I think the red and yellow bands representing a new beginning adsearching for wisdom describ exactly waht I'm doing. Evne more so since I became Born-again. Isn't that a kick or what? :-)

I came across a thread about padawan braids, and now I can't find it again, argh. This is the closest I could find. I have a question: Is it okay for a padawan's braid to be the same length as the rest of their hair? My hair is long enough to do a decent braid without the aid of an extension or faux piece, and I do need a trim, so I thought I might have the hairdresser leave a lock for me to braid. But then, I wouldn't want to go around with one piece of hair longer than the rest. Sure, it'd look good while I'm in costume, but the remainder of the time, it'd just look silly. (I'm assuming I wouldn't always leave the piece braided.) ::shrug:: Any suggestions?

When I have worn a padawan braid, I put the rest of my very long hair up in a confined style, and left the padawan locke hang. It worked very well.

i had a braid, but after a year of it i cut it off so now im doing the long hair and beard thing.
this is really cool about the colors and such, and it looks like im a diplomat from coroscant, but i want to know why there isnt a meaning for black? i mean just because its worn by the sith and dark jedi doesnt label it as "evil" i mean my tunic is brown but my pants belt and boots are black, and im not "evil" so whats the deal?

oh and jade, for draxxus... if you kept up with the EU you might know who ganner rhysode is, maybe you could do something with that... he always dressed radient and flashy with lots of metalic blues and blacks, i always thought that was pretty neat, and since he wants something different, well there you go
and another thing, when do you guys wear your robes? i wear them to every formal activity im invited to, im even gonna waer them to my junior prom in a few months. im just curious about when everyone else wears them.

Well..the color scheme does not include the boots and belts. We are mainly talking about the main uniform colors. The builders have black robes..but another color uniform. It is mainly the unifrom we look at to determine who, what or where.
And because the 'bad guys' do tend to wear clothing in the black or black/red, if you wear it...Most folks will consider you a Sith or dark Jedi.
You might get away with a dark grey though...

Just black pants are ok. You should be regognizable as a Jedi. Someone at a costuming event I went to had on black leggings with her Jedi costume and it looked fine! Plus, just black inner tunics or pants along with the rest of a traditional costume is one of the variations the Council already agreed on.............. just in case you were wonderin'.
