Hey guys!
The site looks great, and I am excited about joining a group with standards as high as those of the 501st (I am TB-3114). But I can't seem to find any patterns.
I have seen that Simplicity 8311 is a great pattern, but is out of print, and I can;t seem to find it on ebay.
When I visited your table at C IV, there was a binder full of patterns on display, and when I asked the Jedi manning the table where I could find the patterns, he said they were all on the web-site. I can't seem to find these links. Can someone help me out?
Thanks,
(Hopefully Soon to be) Roan Shryne.

Thanks Colby, it looks like there is a great tutorial on Jedi Robes in that section that looks like part of what they had in the binder.
However, the Jedi Outer Tunic/Pants tutorial only references pattern sets that are out of print. Does anyone know where I can find Simplicity 8311, or have an alternative pattern for the Jedi Tunics and pants?
I would greatly appreciate the help.

After much research, this is my final design. The measurements of course will need to be altered to fit you. The hardest part is the neverending search for the "perfect" fabric. I hope this helps and Good Luck.

I'd have to agree about that. The real hard part is actually finding your fabrics.

Simplicity 4450 is what I used. It's now out of print, but many of the local stores still have it available! Here are pictures of what my 4450 turned out like: www.flickr.com/photos/jennymbraun/sets/72157600432983901/Let me know if you have any questions about 4450 if you use it...I'll be glad to help

I clicked on the link, created a flickr account, and it told me that your page is private and I don't have permission to view it.

Kai, between the McCall's and Simplicity 5840, which did you prefer and was there any particular reason? I used the Simplicity for mine (modified of course) but I have the McCall's and thought I might try it on a new tunic. Jenny, did you modify 4450? It looks nice on you.... I have that one too. Hmmm... Roan, **WARNING** costuming is extremely habit-forming.... ;D ;D ;D BTW, I loved your character in Dark Lord! Some of his "inner grumblings" reminded me of myself!

The hardest part is the neverending search for the "perfect" fabric. Oh yeah!!! I'm a "sale scavenger" (and a perfectionist : and I have 4 different pieces of fabric for future tunics: Osnaburg Khaki wool suiting Medium brown "organic cotton" More of the same khaki calcutta I used for my membership tunic Plus: Black Calcutta for Halloween I want to do a long-ish tunic to replace my 2005 version on the "Jedi Beginnings" thread Yes, costuming is addicting..... ;D

Very addicting, I've used parts of all of those and a few others as well, some that worked best were regular clothing patterns that I modified, but I usually draft my own, not your average shape pattern, they work better on me.

I pretty much only use McCall's 2940 pattern as that's what I started with before there were any other's available. I made my own tabbard and obi patterns. I haven't actually even opened the Simplicity. I have it in case someone in our local group wants to use it.

My 4450 is not modified. The only thing from the pattern that I didn't make is the dickie...I just bought an old 80's sport coat that had a 'v' front and hacked it off. all tha tis left is a sleevless mid riff shirt...but the front is perfect ;D

I also used Simplicity 4450, but I made straight tabbards instead of using the curved pattern pieces... (I have thought about making the curved ones to see how they fit the female figure ) It, too, has gone out of print but I've seen it in stores... There's no undertunic, but I made the dickey, hand stitched it to a V-neck T-shirt and made sleeves from guess work... to me, that was the hardest part, I'm a pattern sort of girl... I didn't want a full undertunic because of HEAT (I live in Arizona!) I used a linen-like fabric, looks great and doesn't wrinkle, but I am considering making a new one (I need a smaller size) in Calcutta cloth or some sort of crinkle cotton to look more screen accurate... ahh, that's for the future... right now my sewing gear is packed away for my eventual move to Endor (Montana)... Anyway, the actual sewing of 4450 was easy... if you can find it, you will have a minimum of alterations to make... in fact, you can do it without any alterations... depending on your sewing skills! i72.photobucket.com/albums/i184/granny-wan/Star%20Wars/DSC_4797.jpg
