Don't forget they wore suspenders though!

Really? I didn't know that.
I wear Docker-type (not "real" Dockers... can't afford those.) I'd like to get a slightly darker color though.

I didn't know that, either, Primodo. I thought it made sense.

It actually cropped up in interest from leaked Ewan pictures and then looking at some old TPM photograps you can see them as well. Pretty fun actually

I'd heard about the suspenders, but not seen any of the pics. So, for any costume displays of the movie Jedi outfits, if we peeked under the tunics, we'd find suspenders? Think they'd let us do that? I must be underestimating suspenders -- I would have thought that they would have had more problems, been more bulky or less sturdy than elastic or snaps or velcro. Especially for outfits that could be used in stunts and are probably washed every day for weeks or even months. I always thought there was a reason suspenders went out of style. Now, suspenders may be movie-accurate, but are they Jedi-accurate? Since the costumes, as portrayed onscreen, are made of some miracle fabric that does all kinds of things that no eartly materials do, I like to think that the Jedi don't use suspenders.

Suspenders aren't practical . You gotta completely disrobe to go to the bathroom if you'er female. ;-) That's why I get my dockers or leggings to fit the wasit just right without a belt.

I would love to see a pic of the suspenders... any leads Primrodo?
I have one of Ewan walking on studio grounds without the outer tunic, and you can see the dockers, but I looked closely and I couldn't see any suspenders there.

Actually they are in that pic Heres another angle: I have to seach for the others, but if you find them let me know. Its with the stunt guys, sans tunics talking to eachother. Might have just seen it on the DVD but I swear it was photos too... I'll keep looking.

I wonder if those suspenders aren't there to keep the pants in place during stunts? It doesn't look like those pants would have a problem staying up for everyday wear, but movies have costume standards that don't correspond to real life.

Its to keep them up for action and movement to avoid using a belt under their already heavy laden and belted costume

Ah, ok.... thanks! I have a similar photo but it's small and pixelated.
Actually it's the one on the padawan's guide... looking closely, now I see the suspenders... they're hanging down at his sides.

Well, you can bet that they are either the button & loop on kind, or that they are stiched to the pants, metal clip ons are notorius for snapping off. Good one Primrodo, I sort of thought they might use them in the stunts, costume logic, it works & won't show, a belt under the Jedi belt just would never occur to me for keeping up the pants, esp. in stunts. But Mynn is right about women & suspenders under a tunic, that would be a huge bother, .........I don't think I need to explain that one.
