One of the guys I work with who is a sci-fi buff gave me the two hard cover books. I would try e-bay or some other used book seller....the two I mentioned in the post above probably will be relatively easy to find, but the "Under the Black Sun" which I am looking for sounds like it may have been a limited release and I saw one up for sale on e-bay with a minimum bid of $60.00...ouch!

I personally like the X-Wing series novels because I love the X-wings and if I wasn't a Jedi, I would be a full time pilot in Rogue Squadron.

The X-Wing series is high on my list also..though I have to say they lost me a little with Wraith Squadron...

Many EU novels are on my favorites list:
I, Jedi - for the solid story telling and Corran Horn!
Star by Star - for the epic combat and Anakin Solo coming to an epiphany (that cost him his life - no!!!). If he could only have explained his mind to Jacen before he died.....
Traitor - for the new POV on the Force by Vergere.
Most of the X-Wing series - I just loved the basic concept. I loved Wraith Squadron because it felt like a campaign journal of an RPG group. Written by an experienced Game Designer (Aaron Allston had wrote for TSR on several D&D products) and it came out at the same time I ran an all-pilot Star Wars RPG Campaign... kewl....
Rogue Planet - for the linking between NJO and the Republic eras
Shatterpoint - this book shows Why Mace Windu is a Master.... (Probably my fave of 2004)

I loved "I, Jedi" mainly because it was about Corran Horn and it seems that it is the only Star Wars EU Novel that is written entirely in the "first person" sense. I wonder what the novel of Star Wars: A New Hope would have been like if it was written for Luke in the "first person" sense? Or any other Star Wars novel for that matter?

and Traitor... er....Leda...you liked "The Approaching Storm"? Yeah...... hmm trying to remember specifics... Well, one thing is that I thought it was neat how Bariss was one of the characters, yet the author never described her physical characteristics. I never got a clear picture of her, but oddly that didn't hinder her part in the story. I figured it was because LFL didn't want us to know what she looked like for some reason, or maybe that Alan Dean Foster wasn't given a description of her. Anyway, that was interesting... but I just enjoyed the story. I was hungry for prequel novels! And what's Traitor? Never heard of that one. Or I should say...where in the timeline does Traitor take place? lol!

"Traitor" is a part of the NJO....the Yuzaan Vong epic... I was losing interest in the whole NJO until Traitor came along....it was truly awesome....and delves into Jason Solo....and interesting insight into a deeper connection with the force....

I liked The Approaching Storm also. That's the one where they were travelling and had to go through all those "tests", right? Some of the descriptions of what they had to do were funny. Hard to think of Obi and Anakin doing some of those things.

I think the 1 character was a prep for JarJar. But I liked the book on the whole, I read it while on the NYLine for Ep II. I re read it recently looking for something in it, I think I liked it better the 2nd time.

I bought Vector Prime, and the Unifying Force, but I haven't read them yet.

"I Jedi" was the first EU novel I ever read, and to this day it is still my favorite. I loved the 1st person perrspective. And the way he describes building the lightsaber and fighting stlyles and feeling the force... well done I say!
Interesting too, is the fact that Halcyon has been spotlighted in "Jedi Trial". Now we're seeing him in action, and learning who he was.
