Velcro is my friend....*grin* As for the pinning....I spun around the sash so the part that normally goes in the back was in the front, where I could see it. Then I stood in front of a mirror, and kinda eyeballed it....surprisingly enough, it wasn't too difficult. ;D

Guys, if you LOOK REALLY CAREFULLY at Obi Wan's shoulders, you can see little stich marks at the inner sides of his tabards. And if you look at the sleeves in the arena scene (look in his sleeve when his hands are chained up), you can see the lining in the outer tunic sleeves, that's probably a lining to "make look nice", and is probably only in the sleeves. Lining is probably a light weight cotton shirting, or a lining silk.

Update on the outfit.... Today I sewed another strip of Velcro on each end of the sash. Then I decided to try it on, to make sure I got them in the right place...they were, but it took me maybe six minutes to figure out which direction the thing was supposed to go! With the tabards sewn on, it's nearly impossible to tell which way is up or down or right or left..... ;D ;D I'm still thinking of doing a skirt for the costume. The problem would be finding the right material for it, finding a good pattern, and finding the money to buy it....so it looks like I might have to wait for a skirt. So I'm trying to think of a different customization....

If I get any brilliant Ideas I'll let you know I'll keep on the look out for a skirt and post a pattern # if I see one also I know sometimes Joannes has patterns go on salw for 99 cents. Get on the mailing list if you can. I am asuming you wish for a long floor length skirt?

I would say definitely check out the Halloween patterns when they go on sale...which should be shortly.... I am sure that you will be able to find something that you could modify....and then save up for material....
Look at some of the patterns of the Lords and Ladies of the Realm thingy....try to imagine them in dark colors and maybe with the trim removed and I'll bet that one of them would be alter-able.
I did order fabric from that on-line source...it is due to be delivered today or tomorrow...check the Fabric GRRRRR thread, I plan to post how the fabric looks... this will hopefully help the people (like mem) that live in a fabric wasteland.

Yup Jade, a floor length skirt. Now that I'm feeling more confident that I will do a skirt....I originally was thinking a light khaki fabric to match the tunic and tabards. Now I'm thinking about doing another color that would still go with the outfit, but not necessarily match a particular fabric. Does anyone have ideas/suggestions?

You were right, Schph...the Force was with me today. We just happened to go by Wal-Mart, and I picked up a skirt pattern that was on sale for only 2.79! ...Now I just need to get some kind of fabric for it! ;D

I'm still trying to decide on color/type of fabric before getting any.....I know this is a blatant beg for help....I just can't decide what to do for the skirt fabric!

Wow.....good question.... Looking at the action figures on my desk it is really hard to figure out what kind of fabric Shaak Ti and Luminara's dresses are made of...especially Luminara's....her's has almost a crinnelon look to it......
Oh Nova! Any help for Ryss?

Actually, It's very possible that there is crinoline under the robes, I'd say that there is more than 1 layer of fabric there. Jocasta looks like she is wearing hoops and petticoats under her skirts as well, the best view is when she walks away going through the door arch. I will try for a better look at Luminara and Shaak Ti the next time I see the film, later this week if it's still there after fri.

Alright, some interesting updates. I bought the fabric for my skirt today...it's 100% cotton, and a medium brown kind of in between the robe and tunic colors. Then I started working on it...and now all I have left is the hem! I had some extra fabric and a nice pattern, so I started making a sleeveless tank-top type shirt that I'll probably use for the undertunic. ;D And...this Sunday I was at a Rennaisance(sp) Fair, and guess what I found, for just $22....bracers! They're dark brown leather with leather laces, and look awesome. I should have pics sometime soon, and definitely by Halloween. I also picked up an interesting doodad that caught my eye at Wal-Mart...it's a black ribbon with these dark iridescent-ish beads hanging from it, and I'll probably wear it on my head. ;D

Wow! Great progress......have you been working by hand or by machine? Can't wait to see the pictures!
I finally finished my dark brown version....picked up my "new" redone boots and new belt....gotta say...I like it.... I think I will put a little velcro on the top of the shoulders and tabbards to keep them in place...I have been reluctant to do that.....but the tabbards can be a pain.....
I need to take some pictures.....but even if I get them taken...I don't know how to post them....it's that doofus thing again.
