Just became a full member and thought I'd share the finer details of my costume will everyone...
My costume is inspired by Master Windu's coatume, with extra long tabards and earthy colours, since I consider myself Master Windu’s last apprentice. I embroided motifs on my costume to depict symbols, elements and places that are of importance to me…
Here’s me in my costume. Photoshop work courtesy of Jedileda.

A crest on the upper back of my Outer Tunic, just below the collar.

Very nice. Embroidery is an interesting idea.
Someone I know who knows someone who says she knows....that the patterns on Jocasta Nu's costume were actually embroidered.

Thanks for all the compliments, I'm glad you guys approve
When I first thought about embroidering my costume, I wasn't sure how fellow Jedis would react to it. So I did some research and saw that thanks to the EU, costumes with elaborate embroidery is not uncommon, so I decided to give it a go.
As you can see, I've kept it quite low-key, using very subtle colour thread and only have the embroidery on strategic areas. Now that I have worn it to quite a few events and gathering, and haven't receive any negative feedback about it, I think I'll put more embroidery on it. Actually sometimes people don't even notice the embroidery because its so subtle and blends in with the background color...
This is what I have in mind...full embroidery on the front of the Tabard from the waist down; more embroidery on the Outer Tunic sleeve edge, expanding out from the existing pattern; and on the pants along the outer seam, from the waist down to where the pants go into the boots.
What do you guys think?

Nicely done! I believe that not only a jedi's lightsaber should be unique, but that he/she should create their own unique look and you have certainly done this. May the force be with you all!

They are really nice, did you do that by hand? It looks like "French Knots" in the one design, is that what the stich is?

They are really nice, did you do that by hand? It looks like "French Knots" in the one design, is that what the stich is? You know your stitches well nova...the highly-protruding area of the crest on the back of my outer tunic is indeed French Knots (or Colonial Knots to some).
For anyone else who care to know, it's satin stitches for the embroidery on the sleeve edge, while running stitches and stem stitches were used for the tabard and the rest of the designs on the crest...
Palestrina stitches were used on the collar of the inner tunic.
And no, I didn't do the embroidery myself, my girlfriend did. She makes candle wicking cushions and table runners, apart from doing smocking for children's dresses...and yes, it was all hand-sawn.

Beautiful Job! A friend of mine and I did our (medieval group) shire's Banner & Herald's Tabbards several years ago, some of the design we did was done in the French Knot style, it's a difficult stitch to get the hang of at 1st, haven't done it since, I'd have to relearn how

What type of thread did she use?(Your fiance'.) I've been wanting to do that to my obi and tabbrds but never knew were to start threadwise.
