So, I was pondering this on the RL, so I'll ponder here.
I may get a ride to see TPM in 3-D, but there aren't any other costumers in the area. Should I go see it in costume, solo? That can be hit or miss, so I'm on the fence about it.

I've done it when Phantom Menace came out the first time before I had internet, and heard about the RL,TJA,or the 501st.

I'll be going on a solo mission seeing TPM in costume whenever I get a chance to go.

I agree with what was said in answer to your question on RL boards: If you're going to a special opening, such as midnight, then yes. But if you'll be the only one in costume at the 2:15 showing on Sat, then I think it might feel a little weird. As someone else also said, depends on how extroverted. In the past, I've felt weird being the only one in costume at a random showing but I'm not that extroverted.

Well, there's a good chance I'll see it on opening night. So, I'm leaning toward wearing a costume. I do have a cool lightsaber, so that generally works even if no one else is in costume.
I'm middle of the road introvert/extravert -- there has to be some extravert just to be in costume.

More then likely I'll go in costume.

My local Garrison/Base is going to troop the Saturday daytime showing and we're running a food drive with the local Regal Cinemas. Bring in food and get the tickets at half price for the day!

Same here . . . The Great Lakes Garrison (501st) will be in full force throughtout the State of Michigan in about five of it's major cities on Saturday afternoon providing atmosphere at the cinemas. On opening day, The Detroit Piston's are having a "Star Wars Night". Our Garrison always include RL and TJA members to all of its events. The GLG are awesome. No problem wearing Jedi here! ;D

I'm glad that's true, Zhar! Same here in Seattle, fortunately. However, they're not as organized.

It'd be great if you all could pass out some TJA fliers to other Jedi you see at the shows! Make up a quick flyer or card to hand out!

I have no trouble wearing my costume solo to TPM if I had to. My problem is I like to eat popcorn during the movie & don't want to get my Jedi all messed up with you know what. If I did it as a special event I would not be doing the popcorn. I may wear a form of my Jedi that is not usable for special events that I have--could almost call it a Rubys version but not quite. Also I don't know what the weather is going to be---we're supposed to get colder & yucky weather this coming weekend.
