I dont know how you guys feel about this, but I use leggings as my pants. I have a cropped pair that are loose enough to give the appearance of baggier pants, but I don't have to deal with stuffing them into the boots! I am thinking I might make a pair of pants for my niece with "boots" attached so she can wear them on halloween and not worry about wearing the knee highs as she trick or treats.
does anyone have any tips for the tabbards? I have mine completed...but they have this rounded edge to them instead of a nice crisp finish...I do not like the rounded edge and wish I could figure out how to sew them so the seams look nice but not rounded.

Ironing them flat works for my tabbards.
Do you mean that they curl up on the edges?
If they do curl up then the problem is the type of fabric and they only thing to do is make the tabbards out of different material.
Does the fabric they're made out of have any kind of stretch to it. It's always easier to have a crisp edge if they are made out of non-stretch fabric.

Did you clip the extra fabric at the corners and fully push the corners out to the seamline before you turned them to the rightside? Also really pressing as you finish helps too. Depending on the fabric you can topstich to finish, works on rougher fabrics where it doesn't show much. Depending on her age, your neice may not be eligible yet for membership so for a halloween costume do what is safest. Safety first, and a lighted lightsabre is a good thing too. High visibilty.

A lot of us wear leggings, cropped is practical and comfortable in a tight boot leg. I also have some capri lenth pants that I use for the same reason.

Ani-Chay Pinn: I did iron them first, and they kind of oval in...I sew them on the "wrong" side and when I flip them over, they curve in! Nova Darklighter: This is for me! My nieces costume is good for her for now! She is excited to have the costume and is not yet as concerned for authenticity as I am! shes still young...lol I will try steaming and ironing them again now that they are done. The fabric that I used is crinkled cotton...I dont know if that makes a difference?

If anything, I have seen people extend their boots using leather that matches the color. I tried to find some examples of it, but basically they are able to clip on the leather and extend the length to their calfs... if that helps!
