Corgi/MR is not picking up Lucasfilm licensing begining of 2008 on the market of it's shareholders. In other words no more new Star Wars prop replicas will be made after 2008 This makes me very angry very angry indeed

masterreplicas.com/forum/show_page.php?mr_redir_page=showthread.php&t=698&cookie_check=1They are only allowed to seel off all stock proly at a cheap cost and then they must ceast and disist(sp). Hopefully its an oh yes kinda thing and they will do something new like a new sound board and more accurate sizing of the sabers. I never liked how mr did anything sw related they never did them accurate enought for me to want to buy one. and there buckets are just ungodly expencive for something ungodly worthless.

I've seen photos of prototypes of MR produced Jedi costumes. They were "OK" but not wonderful, though certainly better than Rubies. From the sounds of this they will never reach market.

I think the best way to get a costume is eather to make one or to buy one from someone who knows what there doing.

I wonder if Lucasfilm was looking for someone else to give (well, sell anyway) the licensing to.

I think the best way to get a costume is eather to make one or to buy one from someone who knows what there doing. Of course. But an MR costume might have been an option for some people. Reading between the lines of the article(s), it sounds like LFL might have wanted more for the license renewal than MR wanted to pay.

I think JediKai is right, or that Corgi/MR tought the license was pretty much used out - with most major sabers made already. Their renewall might have been a longer term investment then they'd wanted to commit for.
I've read somewhere that LFL is trying to fill the missing liscences by the end of the year, so me might have good news coming up.

How long does MR stay with a product line? Since they offer 'collector's' items, then that implies to me that they only produce an item for a limited amount of time.
I don't get any of the other MR products, but it seems a shame that they'll stop making the FX sabers just when they've gotten decent. However, the technology seems to still be evolving; I hope that a new company might make them with detachable blades.

I checked the announcement and it says that Master Replicas was bought out by another company at the end of last year, so that might be a contributing factor to them ending the license.
EDIT: Ack! I checked my link to the MR site and the company that bought them out has really put their name on it.
