Ky-Wan, I could totally see you as a Sith predator, just let that hair matt up a bit. A Vader style pred bio-mask...hmmm...I think I might have to draw that up.

darth nihilus's mask was pretty awsome, it would be pretty cool to make, but it would have to be done right. I wonder if a phantom of the opera like mask would work with a jedi costume. that would be awsome.

Interesting look....
Plo Koon didn't really wear a mask...what he wore was more or less a breathing apparatus as he was not able to breath oxygen rich (I think it was Oxygen) atmospheres...that it would appear that most "worlds" had...as evidenced by the lack of necessity for most sentients to use any breathing apparatus on most worlds in the Star Wars Universe....
While being very cool....I am not sure I understand the need to wear a mask.....I am also not sure that the general public would look at it and immediatly think "Jedi"....but the reality is....if you have the rest of the Jedi garb....you can wear the mask when you want...and not wear it if a situation calls for canon....

It was really just an idea I had, and although I may no longer pursue it, I'm glad to hear that masks would be allowed as part of a costume

Actually, the decision of the Council was that masks would not be allowed in a costume for membeship, unless it was in recreating a specific character. A non-canon event would be a different matter.

Really? From Schph's comment: if you have the rest of the Jedi garb....you can wear the mask when you want...and not wear it if a situation calls for canon.... I read that as meaning that masks would be allowed for personal costumes, but they could not be worn when Canon was required (such as LFL Events)...

Well....it is kind of a moot point if you have decided against it... At any rate...let's take you...for example.... you have a costume... you have been accepted with your current costume.... and are a member based ON that costume... if you wanted to do a mask....wear it to a local Con or whatever....hey......go for it.... If you were to attend a canon event...as a represntative of the Jedi Assembly...said mask would not be in keeping with our Code... clear as mud?

Indeed it is What if though, I was to create a new costume (which I'm planning on doing) and wanted to incorporate a mask into that new costume? I know the costume would have to be re-approved, so I wondered if a mask would be permitted under those circumstances, and as long as it was not then worn to actual events requiring canon, just kept as part of the 'membership costume', for want of a better term? Although I'm still flip-fliooping between including one or not, I think it's a discussion worth having for the benefit of anyone who may be definitely planning on doing a masked costume

Once again...I refer you to Kai's answer......about re-creating a specific character.... and it is all a moot point...you are already a member ....so...
...I am not sure what the point actuall is... .....you are already a member based on your current costume.... you can make all the costumes you want for your own amusement...as long as you have one canon costume to support your membership in TJA....
We don't list multiple costumes like the Rebel Legion or 501st because we are all Jedi.....the other costume groups have a whole bunch of characters to choose from...we have only one....a Jedi....how many different variations you want to make is your choice (I have 6)....as long as you have one canon costume for full membership...

Ahh, I see your confusion... I was planning on entirely replacing my existing costume with a new one, and displaying that new one it the place of the current one my membership is based off (even if that means the new costume is evaluated for membership criteria)
