I didnt get a new sabre for christmas but I made a couple for friends. Still got 4 more to make before I can start work on a new one for myself.
I'll take some pics of the completed ones when I see them again.

not yet. My kids each got a jedi belt with one pouch and food capsules. I hope to build them each an LED saber at the end of January.

I did... to: me, from: me. not especially for christmas, but I finished it during the hollidays. Its my brand new dueling saber - I discussed about making such saber while Con*Cept, maybe Leda will remember: its out of my King Sol. (See the vader-look-alike in the centre of that photo ) Pics are on my personnal site (click here)The idea is to have a luxeon stunt saber (as opposed to a hero saber - ment to be less good looking, but more practicable for duels)

Took some pics of the latest 2 built. First one for my friend James. He wanted a sabre that had elements of Obi Wans EpIV sabre. It has one of Corbins drivers installed and a 3W green led. Second was for my friend Ian. He wanted a sabre he could use with both his Jedi costume and his Darth Nihilus when its completed. We looked at all the ref pics of nihilus but theres not alot of decent ones around so it left alot of room for creative interpretation Its fitted with a Corbn driver too and a 3W white led so he can change the colour. He also wanted it to be fight friendly so it doesnt have any protruding bits to get in the way and the on/off switch is actually inside the bottom of the pommel (activated by pushing the steel tip). Finally is a 2d drawing of a sabre Im considering making for myself Again a sleek design as I like to duel with my sabres. I also wanted to incorporate some wood this time.

I like the addition of wood element. Wood is barely used by sabermakers, but makes a nice addition.

I have a unique looking piece of wood I've been holding on to to make a saber. It's a stick with a vine that had twisted around it, and the vine is no longer there, so the wood is just twisted. But it's straight enough to make a cool saber out of. I love the addition of wood sections to a saber... it adds an element of nature to it, which is consitant with Jedi philosophy.

I'm working on a belt-hanger saber for a friend, and am trying to find a way to add wooden grip to it. I have most of the parts planned out, but not that... yet I want it to be wood&brass only, so the grip NEEDS to be wooden.

Nearly finished another one. Just need to add the optics for the led and Im adding some leather binding to the 2 recessed black areas of the hilt.

Black leather? Is it textured? I like that touch also.

Here's some pics of my latest. I never had good shots with them so finally here's some decent shots... The one on the left is a Park Dark Avenger. I didn't like the allen screw so I put a thumb screw on there... The second is an aluminum one I figured out and made with dremel and so forth. The third is PVC... I like the designs but I want to make changes of course. The middle one I would like to make thicker so it's more like a normal saber. The basic design I love though... The PVC one is fine but I would like to just make a better quality version of it, perhaps in metal too. I've been thinking about different materials too. I was at Lowes with a friend and saw some antique brass that looked really cool. I was thinking of doing combinations in brass and copper for a different look.

Nice! looks like a good paint job on the grenade part too. Are you gonna keep it as is, or try and convert it to RotS Obi Wan?
