Thank you sir. Coming from such a collector as yourself, that is a great complement! One other note (sorry to use your thank you post for this): The 1st one had the Luke epIV grips, but even with the skinnier handle (1 3/8" instead of 1.5") it looked rather bottom-heavy. Switching to the softer/smaller grips (took forever to find them btw) and cutting 1/16" deep grooves for them to fit down into made it look sleeker and more balanced. Plus it greatly improved the left-hand grip feel (even though it reduced the overall length of the hilt by 3/16"). ~ Koda

Yeah, I think it looks better with smaller grips, the movie accurate ones are actually pretty uncomfortable.

Sorry for the advertising, but if anyone wants the smaller grips, I have them in the same material as the larger, 99% screen accurate ones I'm selling. PM me for details.

koda, your sabre is pretty impressive, did you work on it yourself, or did someone else machine it for you

Thanks Monk.
I drew the blueprints for the 8 parts and found a machinist through a local metalworkers club that cut the parts for me. A lot of thinking and re-thinking went into the design. There are 14 screws holding everything together, but only 4 of them show.

The overall design was inspired by a Sluis Van Lightsaber contest entry a few years ago (if that was yours please let me know so I can give credit). Incorporates elements from Luke's epIV saber and the mid grip from Obi-Wan's epI. Details:Pommel-cap: 0.25" Bevel-cut aluminum plug - Slides into handle and held by flat-head cap screws (covered by the rubber grips). Handle: 1 3/8" dia. thick-walled tube - slides onto main core - held by flat-head cap screws (covered by rubber grips) - 3.25" long to match the softer Anakin style rubber grips - Grips from Jedi-Supply.com and sit down into grooves cut to match grip width (helps them stay on better) - Covertec knob Re-charge Port: Milled into main aluminum core - Similar to the Graflex flash - Electrodes from TFX Studios (eBay). Mid-grip area: Activator & clamp lever from Parks Sabers - Anakin style touch-plate from ... can't remember - Activator cowl is thin-walled aluminum 1.5" dia. attached to main core by button-head cap screws (one visible, two under activator touch-plate) - Black grip is washing machine drain hose from Home Depot (fit perfectly inside thin-walled tubing) Front taper: cut into main core - no details Emitter Shroud: Cut from 1/8" thick-walled tubing 1.5" dia. - attached to main core by flat-head cap screws (visible) Control Knobs: Micro-machined to fit 1/2" dia black screw-covers (bought at Lowes) - held to emitter shroud by button-head cap screws. Emitter: Styled after Anakin's epII saber - plan to remake this in brass to balance the gold touch-strip. - screws into main core - can be unscrewed to retrofit a blade Overall length: 11.5" ~ Koda Very impressive! A unique design!

Hi everyone, I finally have my new Randomsabers hilts. One is LED and the other is EL. I debuted the LED hilt at an event last night. I didn't get photos, but I decided that since I already had the Jedi bin out, I'd get some shots. Obviously those blades are photoshop'd (as it was very bright outside). The Resonator in action (again, a photoshopped blade). Detail photo of the hilt's recharge port. That's the Resonator on the left against an Anakin ROTS Force FX on the right. ...then I found this killer function on my camera that let me do this! Other photos of interest: - My illuminating saber collection- Uzumaki~!- Another smashing Jedi pose(r) Anyway, I thought you'd like to see these...sorry for the image-heavy post (I did try and size them down)

You know, as odd as that Muramasa looks, it's my most comfortable hilt aside from the Mace Windu Force FX. The button isn't in the way and the grip feels great, it's nice...

Everyone has their own personal choices, my fav hilt to hold is the Obi-Wan ep1 and 2 hilt. Where as others think it's anot so great for what they like to do. Go with what works.
