Isn't Athena the goddess of wisdom?

Yeah, but that's Greek. Wait a minute - I messed up. Minerva (Athena, to the Greeks) was the goddess of arts and crafts, as well as wisdom. Apollo was the god of the sun, healing, and the arts (esp. poetry and music) in Roman mythology. (Also archery and divination in Greek.) So I mixed him up with Minerva a little. But he's still my fav.
PS Thanx Xana, for pointing that out.

Ahh tatoos..I have two The first was done by a woman named Toria when I was seventeen. It is a Rose about 6" long. Had it done to commemorate my first broken heart. There was a sign above the chair that I sat in that read: "You have to be 21 to get a Tat, and thats that" Obviously not too strictly enforced I got the second at a shop on Belmont in Chicago. It was also done to commemorate the second and final time that a certain young lady broke my heart. This time I felt I needed to get more literal and had a Heart with a knife through it done on my upper arm. So I have two tatoos that my wife hates Besides her desire to remove momentos of an old love, I do not regret getting them. that is my long, sad tat tale

Yes, I really like the temporary kind for an occasional lark or decoration. And they won't bother future mates, and you don't want to see my sisters, YUCK! She had them done when she was younger and thin, but shes gained and lost weight a number of times and they're really distorted now. So let that be a lesson, if get one you must, do it in a place that wont change size a lot, breasts, stomachs and butts are bad for that!

[glow=yellow,1,500]LOL Nova thats funny.... well it isn't but it is. They say the best place to put a tattoo is where when you look in a mirror, you can't see it... that way if you don't like you dont have to look at it every day. [/glow]

[glow=yellow,1,0000]I have now steped into the world of tattoos. I got my first tattoo today. I got a little more the a tiger paw lol. It's the head and front arms of a tiger and just passed the shoulder blades he turns into blue flames. They added a blueish tint to the tiger to give him the look of a white tiger. He's got green eyes and he has the 3 claw marks from one paw. it's WAY bigger then i was personally planning on. It takes up a good porton of the outside of my right calf. I'll get pics once it heals up compleatly and everything. right now it's still bleeding a little here and there. I learned one very good leason today.... NEVER get a BIG tattoo first..... but at least i didn;t cry or anything... lol i was twitching a little lol but i didn't cry. [/glow]

Ok, stepping in and saying hi. Czuco's tatoo is very cool, but oh my owie am i not getting one of those!!!!! as for Tir (usually spelled Tyr) he is a Norse god- it was indeed the Norsemen (yes, vikings) that used these runes (celts used oghms for their lettering system). i think i have a link, but i have no skills on the computer ( i can type and move things with my mouse...) so you have to cut and paste. Of course, i have more of an affection for the rune Jera- the harvest. (ask Czuco, it's all over the house) but Tyr is definately interesting... www.valkyrietower.com/~Lutma

Ohhhhhhhhh.....your tattoo sounds great Czuco, can't wait to see it.
I'm sure the tatoo artist gave you a lot of recommendations...but what I did was take baths instead of showers...kept my leg with the tatoo hanging out of the tub for about two weeks (keeping the tattoo dry...it scabbed up ...then after the two weeks were up...I dunked the leg and washed with a cloth)...all of the scabs came off at once and the tattoo is perfect!
I would love to have a second one....but recent cutbacks in work have left me quite budget conscious. Guess my R2D2 on my back with the words "Rebel Alliance" will have to wait.

[glow=yellow,1,0000]Yeah they told me no baths for a week. i have to use this certain ointment for 4 days then switch to expensive hand lotion for 3 weeks. and after that i have to make sure to put 40 or higher suntan lotion over it if I go outside in the sun. they said not to let it dry out. i'm dealing with it lol. as long as i dont touch it or bump it i'm fine heh.[/glow]
