There are many ways to learn the ways of the Force, but only those who have joined it may know best.

As far as the acryllic cubes, they are just that, solid cubes, though you can get them in either transparent or frosted.

How do you use a solid cube for a holocron? There's no way to put a light or anything else into it. I found "baseball cubes" on ebay, though you have to look to find quantities for sale in 4 or less. Apparently baseball fans buy them by the dozen. You just put holocron insides into them instead of baseballs. I've also seen a few 1970's "photo cubes". My parents had one of those when I was a kid. They're about the same as the baseball cubes except with pictures on the sides.

Yeah, I don't know why someone would want to use a solid cube. All you could really do is decorate the outside of it.
The one I want to make will have lights inside it. I've already got my light source. It's the lighted base to one of those laser etched crystal sculptures. It has 3 LEDs, blue, red, yellow that fade from one to another. It should look pretty cool once it's inside the baseball cube and diffused a bit. And I'm going to take it apart and change it from AA to AAA batteries to save some space.

Kai's been messing with her Fotki folders.
Maybe she moved something and the link doesn't work anymore because it was posted before she did that.

I think you're right, Loreen! I fixed the link. It works (at least for me) now.

Aaaaaaaaah, now it works. Thanks. Very nice. I have the makings of a holocron, but it has to wait until I finish other things.
So, where did the hologram action figure come from? I've never seen those.

It's apparently a few years old. I got it on ebay, after struggling through the worst auction experience I've had there....took 2 months to actually achieve delivery!

I have plans to make 2 different Holocrons---one opaque with lights inside, and one clear and a "cube within a cube".
For that second one, I will put a golf ball cube inside a baseball cube and maybe get a sheet of styrene and cut out some designs to put on the outside. Still figuring that one out.
I just haven't seemed motivated to work on any new projects lately since I made my leather forearm bracers back in May.

I've been eyeing the dechohedren holocron. It's probably way to big for transport in a pouch , but it'd make a great coffee table center peice.:-)

I made a good holocron out of that clear resin and a couple of scraps of steel

I have a holocron question.....there are pictures of them in the prequel costuming books for the movies. But I don't remember them showing up in the films, or did I miss something? Did they build holocron props and then delete that scene from the films? The only other reference I've seen for them is in the books.

As far as I know, I hadn't seen a holocron in the movies. I'm unsure why they were made, unless it was only for the Visual Dictionaries.
