i am building my first lightsaber, and i need some advice to finish it. i have an idea of what i want, i already boght a PVC tube and some nice cool looking plastics parts to use, but my bigger problem is(actually, are): 1) wich material should i use for the grip ? and what kind of glue should i use??
2) what kind of details can i add to my saber to make it look powerfull and cool?
i live in Argentina (a medium "3 world" country in south america, we are not part of Brazil, our capital is Buenos Aires, and we have one of the most importants universities of America)(usually, northamericans and europeans do not know that we exist, and some only do cause Maradona, the best soccer player ever), so things are expensive here. and i also dont have ANY idea how to use special tools :/ (so what i am asking for is "advice for dumbs" more a less :/ )

Greetings Argento, While I do know where Argentina is, I can't offer any help on the Lightsabre, I just wanted to welcome you to the group. Sewing I could help you with.

Hello Argento,
I might be able to send you some links, that will help you with the questions you have on light sabers.
I shall check my resources later this evening. If I find them, I will post them here.
Good luck with your saber.

My saber has o-rings on it from the plumbing supply store. I like them better than any other grips I have seen. And they are comfortable to handle, too. My friend who made my saber said she used crazy glue for some of the metal parts. But others would know better.

Ahh you weren't clear on if it's differant or not when you asked. ;-)
The translation goof with the greeting was from the program not knowing the sentence's context, nor the local dilect so Please be patient with us who attempt to speak it. No offense was intended.

Greetings my young freind, 1. You can use clear epoxy for adhering parts. 2. Use PVC pipes and use dremel saw to cut it into segments. Be careful with the dremel saw. Do not wear gloves that is made from fabrics. Because if a thread from the fabric is caught by the saw, your hands will be pulled towards the saw. You can color the PVC parts by modeling paint. Hope I did answered your questions. Or maybe, you can see my Light sabers and Jedi Com-Link here: community.webshots.com/user/roize1968Jedi Knight Roize.
