Aerith had just begun to wake when she heard a shout of joy. Her eyes widen as her friend ran to her bedside.
"Mephi? How.. how could this be. I saw you on the ship as it exploded?" her eyes suddenly sparkled as she threw her arms around her friend and kissed him on the cheek.
'Goddess forgive me for forsakig you.. I was wrong...' She thought as she looked back at him and then the hight prestiess.
"Thank you Lakatta.. " she said with a war heart.
"The goddess wills it.. and its not just Lakatta anymore.. it's mother to both of you." Her yellow eyes shown proudly as she steped foward. The door closed behind them as there was much to talk about in their awed expresions.

He felt warm and happy as she wrapped her arms around him and he hugged her back, but then she kissed him on the cheek.
"Eeewww!! Ewww!!!" He said, and he wiped it off. But then he started laughing. He looked back at Aerith.
"I don't know how I got off of there...maybe I triggered something. When I first got here, I thought I went through a time warp and this was Korriban. But, I know it isn't now...." He told her, and he looked at the Priestess.
"Ma'am, what is this planet? And how do you know the Goddess and Sith ways? How can i learn to call you my mother, when I already have one....." He sobbed again, thiking of his beautiful mother, and she would comfort him if he was sad.
--- Lakatta looked at the young boy and smiled at his reaction to Aerith kissing him. Folding her hands together she spoke.
"The Goddess Nimith was once a living breathing person. She came to us from the stars and taught us much technology. Advancing us from savagry. We were taught that we had gifts and she made warriors out of the people. When she died she left us a symbol for us to always remember her. Even now she lives. but not as we do. How she has known to be your people I could only guess. But I would think that she was once of your blood."
Lakatta finished and took a deep breath as her eyes canned the room and back to the children.
"You don't have to accept me as a mother. In time you will. But for now for you to be accepted into society you need a clan. Until the Goddes decress you ready for your tasks.. and once of age you shall have the markings of an adult."

CHAPTER 6
Time past. Thee sun set and rose absentminded as the hot seasons turned the planet.Twelve years had past sense that fateful day. Twelve years sense Aerith and Mephi had been taken into the hands of the High Preistess Lakatta.
Aerith walked gracefully from the high temple draped in the blue robes of a temple Helper. Now 19 years of age her movements were more graceful. She was slender yet her moves suggested not to mess with her in a fight. Golden eyes sparkled in the sun's rays as the days heat had just begun to rise. Long black hair draped over her shoulders as her horns peaked out on her forhead. She looked over to her right as she had the morning to relax before more lessons with Lakatta and smiled as she saw Mephi exit out of a small corner store.
'We've both changed..' She thought as she averted her gaze. Even thought the years among the zabrak had filled them with happiness. It wasn't home. Both still held the deep pain they had from childhood. That was the past though...
For a few weeks she had felt a change in their long friendship. Aerith couldn't place it but it was just...diffrent. Much like the day they became adults...
It had been a long day. sweat dripped down the childs face as she compleated her final task. There had been eight other children that been with her. Only one failed. The task themselves were secret. Passed down from the tribes for years. It was a right of passage for the people here.
Aerith was foruteen standard years of age. Mephi was only a year older. He had compeated his challenges far faster then any of the others. He was now in the temple reciving the blessings of the Goddess and his facial tattoo's. Aerith wouldn't be far behind him. Her heart pounded with anticipation as a Temple Helper walked up and signaled her to follow. Lakatta herself would be blessing Aerith this day.
"My mother." She whispered as she obidently followed in her dirty brown tunic's. She had a cut on her right arm, still bleeding from her last challenge.
As she entered the grand chamber lakatta tunred as she and the Helper bowed and greeted her in a proper manner.
"Today you become a women and your brother a man. I am proud of you both." Lakatta said in her rich voice. She was dressed in her finest. A long white dress with black opals, hinted with blue dimonds threwout the dress. Her red skin glowed with pride as she beconed the child closer and blessed her..
"May the goddess protect and guide you Aerith, daughter of the goddess herself." Lakatta smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder leading her to a small corner where the tools for the adult markings lay. Lajatta kneeled andtold Aerith to sit.
"Do not fear pain child. Pain is a path that leads to enlightment. It keeps our humanity and you have been threw enough pain.Let it go and control you no more it shall." As shespoke Aerith blinked her Golden eyes and kneeled silenty as Lakatta lifted the tool to the younglings face....
A loud shout brought Aerith back to the present. Her hands went to her face where hours of pain had been. She smiled though as she continued walking threw the strests in a good mood.
'Yes it had hurt.. but the smile Mephi gave after I walked out was worth the agony. That morning was the last tie we saw each other as children and in that evening we greeted each other as adults'.......

Mephisto walked out of an herbal shop. Viles and small bags of potions and powders were in thepockets of, or tied well to the belt that hung from his waist. He walked out into the sun, a bright day, as usual. But somehow it seemed more bright. 'She' was coming up to him. He kept his steady, regal pace, and only smiled sparcely, although both of them knew there was a bigger smile on the inside.
Being 20 years old, he was tall, well formed and muscular. On his head, his horns had grown longer and curvier, the back ones looking rather like antlers, and his green eyes shown like emeralds against the sunlight. He was wearing a black tunic and pants, black boots, and a long black cloak. His horns popped through holes in the top, and in his left hand was his newest creation, a power absorbing and concentrating power staff that he would keep with him for the rest of his life. No one bothered him as he walked down the street. They had no right to.
Looking into her eyes he remembered back some years...
Getting used to the zabrak ways of life wasn't as hard as he'd first thought it would be. Infact, he found out, a lot of things done on Iridonia were the same as on korriban. Training and studies were always fun to him. He enjoyed every bit of it, and often did well, which made the High Priestess proud of him.
It was hard for him to call her his mother, but after a few months under her love and care, he had finally accepted her as such. Even though, he would always remember his family back home. That home that was destroyed and consumed by evil....evil...that is what the whole Galaaxy had learned to call the Sith. Only he, Aerith, the Priestess and the Goddess herslef could say otherwise. But ofcourse, it wasn't needed. Those sorts of things had not much meaning to them.
Throughout the years, Iridonia had become a very good second home. He had learned the names of many people, beasts, and places, enjoying all of them for an individual reason. All life was to be respected, as you know. Everything is tied by the force.
He had passed the Selenoren before anyone else in his age group back when he was fifteen. He had been training for several years afterall. And then when he got his blessing and his tattoos, he was very grateful, and he was calm, despite the pain. He had found out through much that pain was a strength, not a weakness.
And now...the once children were now full grown adult Sith. Soon they would be taking the tests to become leaders of the High temple. He knew he was ready. He also knew Aerith was, no matter what she said. And then something else came to his mind...putting him back to the present....
'She's lovely...'

Aerith saw her friend looking at her strangly. yet he acted even stranger towards her. One moment he would be her little playmate from childhood and the next he was all sullen and not knowing what to do. As other daily activities went on threw the market Aerith decided to become playful as she smiled once more and ran up to him.
"Mephi!!!" She tease as she huged him and them ran her hand up one of his horns. She knew he hated it when she yelled out his nickname in public. There were a few snickers from children nearby as Aerith stood back lokng at him. A warm wnd blew up threw the city drifting the sand up in small dust devils.
Mephisto's face became a bit angry. He didn't know what to think. He liked what she was doing, but he felt weird about it. He just froze up for a second, as she ran her hand up one of his long pronged horns.
"WHAT? Aerith! What are you doing! You know that name isn't supposed to be known to everyone! It's embarrassing!" He snarled and he pulled out of her arms, and he walked on toward the temple.
Lakatta stood in a window of the temple looking down at her childfen, knowing very well what was going on. She looked very happy. Although she was very old, she looked young for her age. Her eyes were sparkling golden like the suns.
'My children....the are in love.' She thought warmly, watching at how they acted. It was sort of cute and funny.
She went from the window and awaited for them to return to the temple.
'It won't be long now, dear Goddess. Aerith will soon take my place as your servant. And Mephistopheles will be at her side. Greate fortune is to come. Oh how I thank thee for thine blessing, Goddess. They have brought some much to our world, and still yet..they will bring more.' She thought.
She went down the stairs to the lobby to meet her children.
Aerith chuckled as she pulled her hand away. The laughter stopped as she put her hands together and looked down at her feet. Yet she still had a sly smile on the edge of her lips.
"What? Everyone knows I call you that?" She looked back up as her hair fell foward in a waved pattern. Unclasping her hands she took her hand and pulled her hair back off her shoulders.
He didn't look back at first...but finally he glanced back, looking at her smirk she was trying to hide.
"I know you wouldn't...." He sighed, and he walked up the stairs. He heard her feet following soon after. Aerith smiled again as she followed him back up the stone steps. As her gaze went up to the door she saw their mother step out in her traditional robes of dark blue. Her eyes holding the wisdome of many years.
'My child..how much you have grown theses years. And so youn gto take my place so soon.' She thought and was aware that they noticed her.
"Mother." Aerith chirped and bowed. Mephisto bowed as well.
"Mother." He answered a few seconds behind Aerith. He gave her a confused look. Normaly Lakatta would see them for training inside the temple. There had been rumors of her retiring for a few years now. Yet no sucsessor had been choosen. Only the goddess supposedly chose the new High prestiess.

"Come my children...follow me." Lakatta told them, smiling. She walked down the steps of the temple and onto the sand, leading the way slowly.
Mephisto said nothing. He walked back down the steps and followed shortly behind, keeping his head low. He however, had wanted Aerith to walk beside him...he thought..'Come..please hold my hand..' He sent to the young woman.
He wondered where they were going...was it far or was it near? And what was so special about going there today?
The young women was behind Lakatta and fully aware that her friend was starign at her again. She felt a lump in her thorat feeling he wanted something and was afarid to ask her.
'What is with him? he's being very confusing latley. It made her uneasy as she thought back to when he would talk to her about anything.
She slowed her pace slowley and mephi was by her side. Aerith eyed him out of the corner of her eye as they passed through the streets. The only sound she payed attention to was the tapping sound of the staff Mehpitso had. She wondered where he got it and why.
"What's wrong with you?" She whispered breaking the silence.
He reached his hand out to hers and clasped it as they walked through the village, heading out of it, toward a small patch of woods that was shapped ina large circle.
"I'm sorry, Aerith. Don't you feel it? There is an odd power. I don't understand it all the way, but....I think I like it. It has to do with you." He told her. His staff's crystal glimmered in the sun, and he looked up at the bright red jewel, then back to her.
"I made this a few eeks ago. I spent hours on it. This is a powerstaff. I crafted it after the manner of the preistess Nephthys, back on Korriban. Except hers was diferent and had a blue crystal. Mother said it will help me with my great power." He told her as they walked on.
They came to the edge of the woods. It smelled sweet here. Like flowers and fruits. Yet nothing here was harmed by anyone's hands. Everything was perfect.
The group followed a trail through the woodland. It was inviting, and invigorating to the spirit.
"This is the oasis forest of the goddess. It is a holy place. Here, only peace can there be. Even the most wild heart will be tamed." Lakatta told them as they pressed forward. Soon the sound of rushing water was heard.
As his hand clasped over hers she looked at him funny. His hand was warm and inviting. At first she felt the urge to pull away frrom him but thought differtently. She smiled as they approached the tall gates. Her eyes opened wide as they entered the forest.
"Your still not answered my question Mephi." She chided but soon forgot as he told her of the power. Dealing with her? She was sure he was being stupid. As he told her of this power and how mother said it would make him powerful she had to wonder which mother he was talking about...
"Lakatta..mother.. why have you brought us here? I had no idea there was such a place here." Aerith said quietly. Yes their planet had some parts of greenery, but that was only because of the technology keeping it so the zabrak could live.

Mephisto looked at his female comrade again. The way he felt shown clearly in his eyes, yet he was still confused about what it was. He said to Aerith, "I tried to tell you. I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel...attracted to you! That's it."
Lakatta smiled, keeping herself looking forward as she led the way through the thicket on the outskirts of the tropical forest. 'They were meant for eachother. By the will of the Goddess.' She thought.
The sound of the waterfall became louder, and soon they came through the tall grass and looked out upon a large, crystal green watered lake fed by a waterfall. Far off in front of the fall was a piece of land with steps and a shrine. A large statue of the Goddess was inside of it.
"We are here now, children. Here is the place where you will receive your last steps to taking my place at head of the temple of our Goddess, Nimith." The Priestess told them. She was being more serious now, though you could hear a slight accent of happiness in her voice.
Mephisto stood with Earith's hand in his and looked at the beautiful lake and all around it. This place was so tranquill and pure. It made him feel very good inside.
Aerith's face flushed a deep crimson red as she looked at eh slow ripples of the lake. After may years of wondering what was beyind the gates she stopped.
"What do you mean mother. the Goddes is the one that chooses the next holy one? I have no intrest in being the next prestiess."
Her hand was in Mephis's as she said this.Their mother had stopped and hadn't said a word as the cold wind blew. How many years had it been sense the gate had opened to strangers?'
The priestess turned and faced her children as a boat came floating across the lake. It had no sail, no oars, and no motor.
She smiled at them both and she closed her eyes and told them. "This is not a place for debate of anything. This is Emerald Lake. Beyond, in the slow moving waters, ar below are the remains of all the great zabrak warriors who have dedicated themselves to the Goddess. Let us give them are respects before we move on."
The priesstess knelt in prayer and said "Oh Great Warriors of the Goddess. Oh great and might Sith, we give you are thanks for your brave deeds. You have served well. May you rest in peace."
Mephisto had bowed as well.
The awe of the greenery struck her. Yet the high goddess had confused he. Why hadn't let the other people let them in such a place? Surly it desereved the peoples respect?
' I don't understand? All these years of wondering and I am finialy here. Yet I feel as if I were a new born babe.'
mephitiso had let go of her hand as her went to his knee in prayer. He semed to beat peace as his green eys closed in the warm brease.
'I don't get it.' She htought again as she went to one knee and offerted her thanks to be allowed in a great place. Azs her golden eyes opened he watched as the water opened up and a shape apeared..a boat large enough fro them to walk apaon.
"Mother.... I don't understand." Shesaid breaking the silence

Chapter 7
The preistess rose up and Mephisto opened his eyes that looked like a reflection of the holy water here. She smiled again at Aerith and she pointed at he boat for them to get in. Mephisto went first, followed by Aerith.
The priestess remained on the ground. Her enlightened face seemed to become pale. And she spoke to them, "This is your destiny my daughter, as it is Mephisto's. You will grow to like your new status. Now...go. To the shrine of the Goddess, she will recieve you and give you a task in which you must complete. Only then will your duties be over. As mine are now...I am very very old....I will be here if you ever need my my children. I will be here..and I will love you always." She said, and she dissappeared. A ball of ligh tflew into the lake and made it shine.
Mephisto looked at Aerith and held her hand, seeing the confusion and sadness on her face. He looked deep into her eyes to calm her as the boat began to sail itlsef toward the island where the Goddess's body lay at rest.
"Everything will be fine Aerith. Don't be sad. We don't have to be sad anymore." He told her, holding her gently now in his arms, and looking down into her face, he put her under a soft and peaceful spell of love, and he lowered his face to kiss her lips.
She was confused as he kissed her. Here the mother that raised her from hell had suddenly disapeared as the boat drifted on it's own onto the lake.
'Or is it a lake?' She thought. The water made slight slashing sounds against the wodden logs of the boat. Aeoth felt her firends lips touch hers as her yellow eyes closed. It seemed right after althese years.
Yes she had perposials from others but they didn't feel right. This did as she warmed.. forgetting for the moment that things were happenin. That the goddess had descreed that these two would do her will.

"Mephi?"
She asked in a cool voice. Only thier breathing and the small curents of water was head. As Aerith twisted her body to look back towards the shore she was supriesed thta it was sudden;y covered in a deep fog. Her breath caved inas she whispered
"Fog in this weather?"

"Hmmm...." Mephisto said as he looked at the fog rolling in. It made it impossible to look back at the shore line.
"There's only one way to go now." He told her, holding her tightly, but not too tight.
Soon te boat came to the north shore and the fog covered the entire lake as the sith mage stepped out of the boat, holding Aerith's hand.
Before them were stairs leading up to a shrine with a hugr statue inside of it of a woman sith with a lightsaber. Aerith's shock was amouned to the holy stairs. Her eyes flickered back and forth as Mephitso held onto her hand. She was confused as they walked up to the paved stairs.
"I don't understand. Why couldn't we see this before? It was never taught in school nor on the map of Iridona."
Her voice rang out as she breathed in the heavey mists.

"Some things aren't meant for everyone to understand. Somethings aren't supposed to be understood at all....some things have to be hidden from others. But we are special, and we are trusted. We should be thankful." Mephisto replied to her as they walked up the stairs.
Soon they entered into the shrine itself. No one was there. But, there was a sweet smell of insense burning in a compartment before the alter infront of the statue. The room was white and golden. The power here was concentrated and strong, filling them as they became part of the room.
Mephisto raised Aerith's held hand once to his lips and softly kised it as they came to a hault before the base of altar. Then he took her hand down and released it by her side.
Both of them bowed to their knees before the statue of the Goddess and began to call upon her, in united words. Only then would she acknowledge them here and give them what she was going to.
"Oh Goddess, we come before thee. Beckoned here by thine power, we are grateful to know of your hidden wonders. Oh mother of all life, oh eternal soul of watchfulness, we your children wish you to come to us. We seek only your judgement in which you called us here for. Please give us thine mission." They said, and they became quiet afterwards and awaited the answer of their Goddess.
A few minutes later, they heard the voice of the Goddess speak out to them. She sounded proud of them.
"Dear children, your time has come...stand now." She began.
Mephisto and Aerith both stood and looked up at the face of the statue.
Then the Goddess continued, "You have completed your training. You have lived, as others have not. You have been beaten, and smitten, and have faced death without fear. You bare the most powerful seed of any. For you are the last of our people....
Now, Mephistopheles and Aerith of Korriban...you are to be bound in scared matrimony. Together, you will be Priest and Priestess. You will continue to teach our ways to these zabrak. You will bring balance and you will keep it.....together you will have children. They will grow up and take part in great places in the force. Watch them carefully and guide them...you will know what to do in time."
Aerith couldn't believe what she was hearing from the goddess! it was impossible but yet she knew it was true.
"Goddess.. I think your wrong.. why me.. us?"
she took a step foward towards their goddess, barley breathing. How could she teach theses people? They were already diffrent? she thought back to Lakatta. was she still there?

But there was no answer to her presence. Lakatta was beyond the mortal realm, and deep down past her fighting, Aerith was indeed ready for her tasks. In time, like the Goddess Nimith had said, both her and Mephistopheles would know what to do and how to go about their tasks.
Mephistopheles felt Aerith’s frustration, so he sent small waves of comfort to wash over her. He nodded to the Goddess. He knew what she had told them seemed hard, but it was not impossible. Everything is possible. He stayed strong and calming in the holy temple, and he held inside what little maddening was going on. He could feel the frustration going away, being tamed by his duty.
“I accept your mission for us, my lady. I will serve you well, and I wil help Aerith, and I will help these people.” He said respectively.
The Goddess smiled down on both of them, and before the light went away she said to them, “Very good young Priest, do as you will and I will watch you. And young Aerith...fret not, for I have placed a very good task upon your shoulders. It is you who holds the most potent of wonders to be brought forth, and Mephisto will help you in this. You both are chosen by all of our people. By myself, by the priest and priestess, the kings and queens, and nobles, and knights. You have been betrothed since your birth, but you knew not. The king and Duke were to tell you when you were 16, but alas they fell under the hand of evil. So now it is your chance to make things right again.......I must go now my children. So grow, and be fruitful.”
The goddess left the temple as the light faded, and the fog lifted from the lake behind them. Coming back to the full attention of Aerith, Mephisto looked at his life long friend. His eyes seemed deep and full of knowledge, and much concern was in them for her. He took a hand and took it to one of hers and looked at her.
“Don’t be afraid. I know these things are all sudden. But life’s been this way for us for a few years now. And from all that’s happened, good things have come to us. Besides, I think I know what true love is now, and I don’t think there could be anyone else for me but you.”
Aerith was stunned. If there were words she wanted to syar they were lost on the tip of her tongue. The godess was gone now, leaving her with the man she had knwon all her life.
'I'm not ready for this she thought' worries of fear and being left alone shot threw her mind alng with the last parting worlds teir goddess had said. Betrothed at birth?
"How is this tue?" She whispered as her hands trembled in his. It wasn't cold yet goosebumps formed on her red skin as Mephi spoke of true love.
