Those are some nice pictures. It's always fascinating to see stellar objects like that!

Wow... it looks like you can actually see a well defined tail in that last one. I still haven't seen it myself. I haven't been up to the observatory lately, and I have too much light and too many trees by me. But the Pleiades is very visible to me... it's high enough, so the next clear night I'm looking! A guy in the Asronomy club posted this Q in the yahoo group: "Hey people, what are the viewing forecasts for tomorrow night?"
and he got this reply" "Great! expecially if you can move the telescope and yourself fast enough between raindrops to stay dry..."
Such is NJ weather!

Too many lights in my neighborhood for my eyes to pck out the fuzzy comet tails. I could see the last one although i was able to guide a few friends toit's location becasue of the stellar charts.
Maybe I've a penchant for astro navigaition.:-D jk

Haven't check on nights that were clear and couldn't on cloudy ones and can't tonight as it started raining here couple hours ago and to rain all night till tomorow morning, but tomorrow night might be clear though way colder than been lately so hopefully I remember to go outside and look. Nice pictures of it. JMD

;D ;D ;D.... I saw it, I saw it!!! *jumps for joy*
It's a beautiful fuzzy blob with an pinpoint of light slightly off center!
Not a naked eye object for my area... Found it with binocs... and pulled out the scope to see the pinpoint!

Friday 2/4, I had 9 boys at the house for a birthday/sleepover.... yes we survived ... ... Looked at Saturn, Orion Nebula, and then I found the comet .... I though the boys were going to explode... they could not believe they were real … then I found the Whirl pool galaxy … One said that it was more fun then Nintendo ... LOL

That's great, isn't it? Our Astronomy Club president wrote an article called The "wow" factor, referring to that wonderful reaction you get from viewing an object for the first... or the hundred and first time!

I think it's great they liked seeing REAL space objects then CGI genraited ones.

Yeah, I agree... I've seen kids come up to the observatory I go to and look into the 18 inch scope they have and be unimpressed. They're more facinated with the giant telescope than seeing what it sees. Too many video games!!!! That'll be my dying rant to my kids!
But I recently tried Starry Night Pro software and it really is good. Shows real space in perspective and lets you travel through the galaxy! I downloaded the trial and I really want the full blown version.
...now if I could only upload a Delta-7 Aethersprite to the program.... I should have a ship to travel in, after all!
