Nerf was supposed to go in today for his second infusion in this round. However he was up all night vomiting again so we could not go. Went to our fa,ily doc and they gave him a shot so at the moment he is doing a tad better. We re-scheduled for Monday depending on how he feels. But I have to work Monday so he will have to go on his own

What a lousy week. WIth all that's been going on with me, Nerf is now in the hospital. He was having some wonky heart rhythms so they put him in overnight at least. I haven't heard yet whether they are going to release him or transfer him to another hospital (not Ann Arbor, at least). He was showing weird rhythms at the hospital (which is good -- usually when he's in the hospital things settle down and he doesn't show anything, LOL).
You think stress plays a factor???
Plus his truck broke down again this week and my Dad crashed his car. He is okay and damage is minor, but still makes me worry

Man Cor you're really going through a trying period.Stress always plays a part as does pain and worry.Sometimes your body tries to overcopensate for things then you pay down the road for it.I truly hope you guys get to feel better, then you'll probably think that's a dream. That's like my one friend if he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have no luck at all

Nerf's home now. They never did quite figure him out. His white blood count was elevated and they gave him some antibiotics, and his heart has calmed down so they let him go. We have to follow up with out family doc and have him try to sort it out.
Also found out this week that all those chemo doses Mark where he went in to get infusions over the past couple of years may be linked to a potentially fatal brain virus. Ths hospital stay had nothing to do with that, but it does give us anoterh worry in the back of our heads

Good thing we didn't go to Motor City Con...
Mark's blood pressure has been acting up since about Thursday night. He went to the ER with a BP that literally would kill a slighter person. They upped his meds but it is still fluctuating all over the place. Makes me wonder if his gall bladder is playing havoc with him

Is it something with the adrenals? I've heard that messes with blood pressure.

I really don't know. They gave him a super-fast med at the ER which brought it down fast but didn't really do any diagnosing. We are supposed to go Monday to see our family doc. He'll probably want to wait til after Nerf's surgery (Thursday) to do anything

Well, Nerf today had anotehr gastro 'scope for his pain and nausea. Nothing abnormal was found, which is good. The doc recommended a Thoracic/cardiac surgeon now to consult about having the xiphoid process removed. (The xiphoid is the cartilage at the bottom of the breastbone.) It is a uncommon procedure, but not exactly rare. I wonder though, if his years of taking prednisone have brittled his bones, causing the pain. He does have osteopenia, but maybe its getting worse.
So Oct. 4 we go to consult about that
