Mace Windu! I love the sleeves on his robe. Although they look WAY cool on him, I think they would pretty on me. I already have an Obi-Wan robe in wool, but I want another one. I want the entire Mace costume!

Mine is an Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon cross...
I have Obi-Wan's shorter tunic with Qui-Gon's "longer in the back" tabbards.
I have shorter tabbards cut, but not sewed yet.
My next one will be a darker version if I can ever find the fabric....grrrrrrrrrrr

[glow=yellow,1,750]I've got 2. E1 Obi-Wan.. It was spose to be Qui-Gon but she made the pants the same color as the shirts which made it look like Obi-Wan. Oh well.. it's still an awsome outfit. I also have E2 Anakin. And a lot of people think it's looks good. I need new tabards though cause the others ones are to heavy and a little short. My cloak look smore like a mix of Qui-Gons and Anakins. THey both have a darker color. Mins kind of a really dark stone grey. Heavy but it flows nice when i walk really fast lol.[/glow]

My long robes are pictured here on the site, my short one is sort of Obi Gonn, tunic sorta Obi, tabard more like Gonn, pants are brown leggings. Going to start a 3rd one after Halloween, most likely, sort of Khaki outer tunic, maybe just above knee length, might do slits above the front of legs like Eeth Koth, making a lt wt wool robe out of some really soft wool I found in a lighter shade of brown than my other robe, pants, might do a foesty green or dk brown.

[glow=teal,2,300]My jedi costume is based on Qui Gon Jinn's, but done in my own style. It has the 2 tunics. Under one is white, over tunic is a Silk creape cream colored japanese haori coat w/ nature scenes embroidered on the sides, sleeve bottoms an bottom of garment all around. Tabbords and Obi are cream colored Raw silk. Pants are black as are boots, pouches and belt. I have pics of it on the Force.net forum. I can sue cream colored pants too. Currently I'm experimenting w/am ambrodiered jade colored dress w/a VERY full skirt. to use instead of the pants. It Looks so cool. Simple but elegant like a jedi is. Jauhzmynn [/glow]

That sounds so cool Jauhzmynn; I saw your thread at TF.N... ;D
As for my outfit...it is also a mix. The tunic is Mace Windu style (thanks Schph!), the tabards and pants are Obi-Wan style, and the boots are my own style. The robe is a generic dark brown, made using a modified Simplicity #9887....I'm trying to think of a way to "personalize" it....I just found a huge box of those tiny beads in my closet....brainstorming what I could do with those. ;D ;D

Mine is fairly generic for the Old Republic. I have two sets: one is light brown, the other is cream/white. I also wear a pair of leather bracers with either costume from time to time. Also, my brown set has a vest in place of tabbards, which looks good by itself with the bracers... Pics...(sorry for the large size on the first one...) --Kai

Thanks! I made the bracers ("arm thingies") myself. They're 3 layers of blacksmith leather (in the padded sections) and close with snaps on the underside. There are some nice bracers at Ravenswood Leather, check them out at www.ravenswoodleather.comcheck out the "kendo bracers" in the bracers gallery...very nice... --Kai

Thanks for the link Kai.... I have been tempted to learn leatherworking but find it diffucult to set aside time for that too...not to mention the tools that you would have to buy, and I guess, if one was really serious, you would need a really industrial sewing machine. So I guess I will leave the leather stuff to the experts.
The large close up picture shows the fabric of your costume in great detail. What kind of fabric is the tunic on the darker version.....it really looks "lush"....great stuff. I have been banging my head for months on fabric and finally ordered some on line because I could not find anything decent around here....the stuff I ended up with looks a lot like the tabbards on your darker version.....but that tunic.....NICE stuff!

Thanks... The fabric on my darker tunic came from (drum roll...) Wal Mart. It's simply a nicely textured cotton that I found there, and promptly dyed to my liking. I simply go into fabric dept.s and stores and find stuff that looks nice to me.
As for leatherworking... Machines are for pros who have their own shops. I PREFER hand stitching 100 times more than machine stitching. That's (personal opinion) what seperates a leather crafter from those who use machines. The stitching from a machine does not compare to a good saddle-stitch by hand. And it's cheaper. If you go the base route, and use stitching chisels, you'd spend perhaps $10 in tools. That's all it takes. Needles (harness needles) and thread (waxed linen, waxed nylon, or artificial sinew--for leatherworking, from Tandy etc.) are nominal costs...as are snaps and so forth. It's not a terribly expensive venture when you do stuff like that. LEATHER can be costly, but when you compare making your own gear to paying someone to make it for you...VAST difference.
Oops...I was ranting...
Anyway, thanks for the kind words...
