I know the Lord has led me to this site. Jauhz, it was great meeting you (again) at the FX. It was great to fellowship with someone who loves Jesus like I do. I felt the darkness at the FX and to tell you the truth, we will not go again. Neverthe less, It was fun hanging with all the Jedi. I would love to share my testimony but it's late and I'm sure it will be long so I'll save it for later. . but soon. I was concerned from the beginning about how my interest in SW would be compatible with Christianity. Then I quickly saw that there were other SW Christians. I realize that worshipping SW and holding the actors as idols is wrong. There is even those who want to start there own Jedi religion! We should love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. I have already met someone who told me they have sold their soul to SW (playing the games, specifically). That is so sad. We prayed for him. Having an interest in something..ie..sports, hunting, ect.. is part of the fun in life and nothing is wrong with that... as long as God is still #1 in your life. I didn't mean to start preaching here. I did want to encourage whosoever might read this. Jesus is the only way to true happines and peace. I hate for people to find that out the hard way. Everyone's testimony was precious to me, some almost made me cry. Thanks Tanthos for starting this life-changing thread. Dueteronomy 30:19 "Choose Life"

Yoyu'er not 'preaching' Mira, It's alright.
FX was ok, but I wasn't too keen on it. If God tells me to go again I will, cuz the people hidding in the darkness need a light to guide them out. What a better light then Christians.:-D

I'm not trying to be offensive here, but when I talk to people of varying religions, many admit that they don't know the truth of the universe and that they could be "wrong", but seemingly every Christian I speak to is very theocentric, believing there is no possibility of another truth, and that every non-Christian will suffer. Why is it so hard to admit that Christianity is not absolute?

God is the creator of the universe. Even the world itself should be a testimony of God. Before I received Christ as my Lord, I had a fleshly nature that ruled me by feelings and emotions- whatever made me happy at the time, I did. I became a slave to my fleshly desires. Truth was nothing I looked for. My happiness quickly went away. My life was full of trouble and problems. I had nothing to judge my life by without truth. Worldly truth has no value it changes day by day. I knew in my heart only GOD could have made the universe so I decided to trust GODS word as truth { the Bible }. GODS word is of great value only from it comes abundant life, wisdom, knowledge and undersanding of salvation thru CHRIST which is forever . Look for truth read PROVERBS in the Bible it's up to you.

I prefer to find truth for myself rather than trust a highly modified book written by aristocratic clergymen hundreds of years ago. I did not ask for you to try to convert me. I'm above that; I've even had a lengthy conversation with a BISHOP and he couldn't even do that. I asked why many Christians can't accept that they cannot prove God is real and Jesus will let you into heaven. Scientists admit that they are only making an idea on a topic until a better one comes along, which is probably why some religious people feel that it is important to bash evolution because it's "just a theory".
the·o·ry ( P ) Pronunciation Key (th-r, thîr) n. pl. the·o·ries 1) A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena. 2) The branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice: a fine musician who had never studied theory. 3) A set of theorems that constitute a systematic view of a branch of mathematics. 4) Abstract reasoning; speculation: a decision based on experience rather than theory. 5) A belief or principle that guides action or assists comprehension or judgment: staked out the house on the theory that criminals usually return to the scene of the crime.
faith ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fth) n. 1) Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. 2) Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief. See Synonyms at trust. 3) Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters. 4) often Faith Christianity. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will. 5) The body of dogma of a religion: the Muslim faith.
By looking at these two definitions, I would argue that theory is far more solid than faith. God may be in your heart, but there is 15 billion years worth of science in the universe that, according to god's word (having only created the earth at 9 in the morning on October 23, 4004 B.C.E.) doesn't exist.

Shatir, you're right about one thing: even that "highly modified book" you mentioned says that we can't and shouldn't expect to "convert" you.

It's a cold, rainy day in Fl. so I thought I'd share my testimony.
I've always loved God and his son Jesus for as long as I can remember. I was brought up in a Christian home, but my parents weren't perfect. I can still remember the fights they had and they just took my brother and I to church when they felt like it. Nevertheless, there was a lot of love in our home. I went to a Christian school 1st-5th grade, so I knew the basic stories of the Bible, but never read it for myself until I was 18. My Dad died suddenly a month before my 16th birthday which was devastating to me, so I dove into my school work. I naturally have a sweet personality, so for a long time I thought I was OK with God because I was a "good" person but my life was full of selfishness and sin. One of my favorite scriptures is where Jesus told the women caught in adultery "neither do I condemn thee, go, and sin no more". John 8:11 When I received Jesus and his forgiveness, I certainly didn't want to turn back to my life of sin. 2 Peter 2: 22 says to turn back to a life of sin is like a dog eating his own vomit. Just like the adulterous women, I deserved punishment for breaking most of the 10 commandments. Knowing Jesus payed my penalty when he died on the cross, I just wanted to live the rest of my life for Him. The Bible became alive to me. I was thankful for grace and forgiveness. Then after 4 years of drawing close to God, I got into a bad relationship with a co-worker/boyfriend. You can say I went to the darkside for a couple of months. I moved from Orlando to Jax to kinda start over. I met my husband and he helped guide me back to the light. We've been married 12 years and most of it has been great. I had a problem with jealousy at the beginning of our marriage which God delivered me out of. One of the most precious things to me is hearing our 6-yr-old daughter pray. She gives our lives so much meaning and we thank God for her everyday. There has been temptations and trials I've faced but as Paul said, "the Lord has delivered me from them all". In 2003, my sister-in-law's fiancee put a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. It was a shock that took a while for me to recover from. He was a nice guy but was very depressed. He felt total udder hopelessness. I can't go into all the details but my husband's sister was his whole world and when she left him his world fell apart. God is the first one I turn to during the storms of this life. He is my safety and refuge. He is my rock and shield. If everyone I know deserts me I can still have joy in my heart that God loves me. More than 50% of the people I've known have gotten divorces. The statistic holds true in the U.S. I'm sure we would have if it wasn't for God in our lives and our belief in His Word. Loving your neighbor as yourself is a goal of mine. I just try to make a difference in someone's life no matter how small it may be.

Didn't mean to cause conflict here. Just wanted to learn the reason for Christianity not having evidence of God but so much belief in him. I realize now that I won't get that here, just quotes from a book. I'll leave now. Just make sure you guys believe in God for a reason.
