Humm, My Jedi pants are a khaki dockers in khaki , and black colors I had on hand already. I also found a pair of leggings I use, they are in a khaki and a cream color like Mace's.
Plus side for the 2 pairs of Dockerts and the cream leggings? POCKETS! Comfy and you can't see the pockets under the tunics.

Hey! i'm glad I checked in here before making my pants. Leggings sound good, if they are acceptable, especially if they can be a cozy knit material. They move with you and won't get in the way of mobility too true.....leggings are comfortable and don't bag out...I wear dark brown leggings with my dark brown version...and wear these cream colored "i don't know what you would call them" pants with my light version.. once again...you see sooooooo little of the pants...just about anything works....

Yes I like the leggings under mine as well, comfort and easy to get in the boot legs as well. But I also have a couple of pairs of pants that I wear with different tunics, I don't care for the leggings with my shorter tunics, and it also depends on what colour the tunic and tabbards are. I also have one set that I wear with a long brown skirt. When we get time, I'll get my boss to digi photo them so you all can see what they look like.

I got inexpensive knit "slacks" at Wal-Mart in dark brown and tan. I don't think they're carrying the dark brown anymore, but they should have tan. They're not as tight as leggings, but still a comfortable and easy to move in stretch knit. They fit inside the boots alright, too.

Does it make a difference if the pants aren't an exact match for the tunic? Also, which is preferable if they don't match, for the pants to be lighter or darker than the tunic, or does it make absolutely no difference at all and at least one of you is thinking, "What a git!"

I don't think it really matters if the leggings/slacks match the over tunic exactly or not. Remember mace and Qui GOn ahve differant colored slacks then their tunics. Obi Wan's pants didn't match his dead on either.. I saw have fun finding what looks awesome ;-)

I'd have to say that most of the Jedi don't have pants that match exactly.....for me ....the only criteria is that they fit...are comforatble.....and they are in the tan to brown range... I don't have any pants yet for my taupe version...so I intend to wear the dark brown leggings until I end up with something...

Well, in that case you could also use a shade of blue, or cream or beige or white.

Deva Lifewear www.devalifewear.com is a place I've purchased durable, simple, cotton clothing for over 20 years. Just received the latest catalog. I find their deva cloth is currently available in dark brown, taupe (a tan) and natural, as well as other colors too flashy for Jedi. ;)This fabric is described as "study, medium weight, textured cotton loosely woven with a natural crinkle". They have several styles of cotton pants, even one with a gusset in the crotch. They are mostly elastic and/or drawstring waist. They will hem them to your specs. Their pants cost $35-$45, which may seem expensive. They employ home sewers, giving them a living wage. And their clothes last for decades. I have a couple skirts and a jacket I've had for 10-15 years. I wear them all the time, washing them all the time and they have yet to show wear! The website has never been wonderful....get the catalog.
