funny that someone posted to this thread as I just found a pair of medium brown leggings.....since so little of the pants actually show...I thought the leggings may be a good itea....they hug your legs which make them easier to get into the boots...and talk about comfortable....there is nothing more comfortable....I know they are not the most accurate pants in the world..but ....hey ...my tunics come down a little past mid-thigh and my boots are just about up to my knee...so only about 8-12" of the pants show...and my motto is ...
"comfort first"! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wear leggings under my long robe, they don't show at all, I'm thinking about a different style for the next one, my boots arte ankle high, so I think I might try a fitted lower leg and a blousier top from just below the knee up, the tunic is going to be similar to Eeth Koth's, so, maybe kinda cossack-ish or maybe more persian. Since I think I might wear this to work in during the season at the costume shop, I plan to build the under-tunic right into the tunic for comforts sake, it's brutally hot in there a lot of the time, so, I will line the top from the waist seam up, put in light weight inner sleeves, put a 2nd slightly wider neck-binding band on, only laundry-droid will know. I think I will do the pants in the same fabric, it's a nice medium to light weight linen, soft and drapey, in a light greyish-greenish khaki colour, I got it at a going out of sale a few weeks ago. This one will be the more practical, go on a mission style, less look good on a diplomatic mission, or in the Temple style, which the silk is.

I agree that Hakama are a good choice. I think a pair of field hakama would look perfect on a jedi outfit. Not to mention be really comfortable.

That appears to be what Yoda is wearing in AOTC, note them when he goes for his LS.

I believe all of the jedi wore kakhi pants. i think Sam Jackson said that there really was no set dress code for any of the jedi other than the outer robe. so colors can miss match all they want like my black pants and brown tunic.

They all seem to have something a little different...and we do revel in the fact that as far as Jedi go....your Jedi character is your character..... as long as it isn't Sith....

Hello All. To give a suggestion for sewing pants: I also do Medieval recreationism in the Society for Creative Anachronism, and I made a pair of Jedi Pants based on the pattern for Viking Pants. The fabric can be made of the wearer's choice (but sturdy fabrics are preferred!). They look baggy, but are roomy and comfortable, and the wearer can move in them. The legnth is 1/2" longer than a pair of pants that you would wear, have drawstrings at the cuffs and waist, and the pattern allows elastic to be placed into the hem for a snug fit (but I opted to use drawstrings only). I wore this pattern of pants with my Jedi Outfit and the Brown Medieval Boots from Museum Replicas, and wore it to take my Nephew Joseph to the local mall for safe Trick-Or-Treating, and the other parents, mall patrons, and my friend who works there swore that a Jedi Kight was walking among them. I asked my friend about the pants, and said that they looked Jedi-ish. I think that Simplicity has this pants pattern as part of its Medieval Clothing patterns as part of the pants patterns.

Another re-enactor huh! Funny how many of us do this as well. Check the threads, in the Cafe, I think.

Hey! i'm glad I checked in here before making my pants. Leggings sound good, if they are acceptable, especially if they can be a cozy knit material. They move with you and won't get in the way of mobility
