What happens at TSQ. TRU is that the collectors and frenzied ones are there waiting when it opens in the morning, and rush up there and get them, I'm not a morning thing by nature, I'm very nocturnal. But I'll get them eventually.

I am about to ruin your day Shoshana....the figures were on sale at k-Mart (here in the Chicago area anyway) on Sunday and Monday only and for $3.49!!!
I also found something else out that I did not know about....you guys probably already know this...but the R2-D2 silver anniversary figure is one of a 3 figure set... The first figure is Darth Vader and he was available only at Toy Fair in NYC... The silver anniversary Darth Vader is VERY limited and ...hold on to your hats...a few of them are for sale on e-bay...the bidding is already over $200.00 and one guy wants $600.00 for this figure and a Jorg Sacul.
I don't know what the third figure is and what second mortgage you will have to take out to get it...but frankly...I am starting to go cold on trying to collet the action figures if this is what you have to go through just to keep up!!

Collecting does get crazy sometimes, and so do collectors! lol! Just collect what you like, don't worry about keeping up, and remeber that prices do drop most of the time once the market is saturated with some of these "rarer" figures. So hang tight and be patient.;D

Ah...that's the problem....I like it all!!!
I ended up blowing my entire budget to bits this month...I did a "buy it now" on e-bay for the Darth Vader Silver Anniversary figure....I got it for an average price as compared to the auctions on that figure that had already completed. There weren't too many of them up for sale as compared to the Jorg Sacul figures that went up after Celebration II. I still have the extra Jorg Sacul....am holding on to that extra one for a few years. I have already gotten bitten a number of times on other figures.

AAAHHHHHHHHHH.........I think I'm going to cry ! Oh well..we wound up getting all the figures because we weren't sure how many Hasbro was going to release this time, and whether any of the good ones would be left. We managed to get 90-95% of the EpI figures for $1.97, since there was such a glut. I didn't think we would get so lucky this time around. As for eBay, one thing I have learned about it is you can't base a true collectors price, or any real price for that matter, by their auctions! Some people pay WAY too much for stuff! And, I have always noticed that after the first rush, when you don't think there are going to be more than one or two up for auction, more always turn up and go for a much more reasonable price. I bought an EpI Obi-Wan lightsaber for $50.00 on eBay a few years ago, because it was the only one I had ever seen and you couldn't find it in any of the stores within a 2 hour drive from me. And I'm an Obi-Wan nut ;D. Anyway, within two weeks, there was a ton of them up for sale, and they were going for less than $25.00. Solorad still won't let me live that one down! Don't worry, I'm sure we will all be able to get our hands on the R2 exclusive!!

I got burned big time by the R2-D2 with Holographic Leia...every time I look at that figure I just sigh. And now there was an alert on Chicago Force that the Carbon Freezing Chamber Exclusive from StarWars.com (that I paid $21.95 for ) was on clearance for $8.99....yet another sigh... I do know this much....if for some reason I don't get my hands on the R2-D2 Silver Anniversary figure...I will sell the Darth....I would like to get the thee figure set...
A question for our collector guru Nicklab.... Nicklab... any idea what figure #3 in the Silver Anniversary set is? And what hoops you have to jump through to get it?

Actually, the Silver Anniversary Darth Vader was a New York Toy Fair exclusive...supposedly only 5,000 were made compared to the 15,000 Jorg Sacul... The Silver Anniversary R2 isn't out yet (I hope).. don't know what number three is.

Did you get the regular 12" Clone Trooper, or one of the officer ones (red, green, or yellow)? I haven't been able to find those anywhere, only the regular Clone Trooper.

I think I may have found a place to get the 12" EPI characters I want at a reasonable price, I just hate to mail order, but I think I will. They had the 12" Ben Kenobi that I want, but they don't have any left, the hunt continues.

Well, I did order the "12 sets that I wanted, after a suitably long wait I called and said, UPS said they have no record of this tracking #, she checked it was delayed in shipping, because the one figure, a Darth Maul was damaged, it was the last box, so they decided to substitute a Darth Maul from a different set, a LIMITED EDITION, Signed by RAY PARK, I think it is also an electronic one, neat huh! I didn't care I ordered it for the Qui Gon Jinn! So as long as he was OK, I'm happy! UPS said today that it's enroute, and should be delivered THURSDAY!!!!!
