Speaking of functionality, did you know the movies belts are done by velcrroing the wide belt but the accent belt is one piece going all the way around? The large belt keeper is actually attached to to one side of the belt to and they slide the belts through. pretty interesting, bit would take forever to get off and on That is interesting... where did you learn that justin?

I'll post one pic here to back up my theory-post of a way to secure the belt. I'll put the others in my belt thread.

Humm Velcro. So how do you guys hide the over klap of the belt when it passes through the keeper? Pass it through on the inside of the belt?(Closest to the body. Keeper secured to the other end, doesn't move, hides any securing assembly.) Is that how? I 'm thinking of trying velcro to help keeping the belt from moving when I use the tension securing method.
Jedi Wannabe, keep trying Wal-mart, they'll get it in. They've deliverys at least once a week. Keep looking every week, it'll show up.

ok. I have a rather simple idea for the fastening. might work, might not. use the small belt worn backwards. get a belt that has a removable buckle, remove it and slip on the front buckle. adjust the front buckle to where you want it. put the buckle back on the small belt and put it on the larger belt so that you can close it from behind. use the large keeper to hide the rear buckle. If the buckle on the smaller belt is one that is easily adjustable it would make for a quick way to put the belt on and a simpler way to make the belt.

My belt is seceured by the accent belt which buckles on the side, but is then hidden by a utilities holder and a pouch, both accessible and secure, but I designed my belt before TPM came out, using the artwork for the lic. stuff, it works for me as I'm not trying to be a replicant of any particular movie Jedi, which for me would not really work, I don't look like any of them in any really believeable way.

Snaps and holes... Not something I made, but it does allow for more variety of size without compromizing on the strength of the closure

Mine overlaps in the back but the accent belt actually buckling in the front is what secures the whole belt. I still have the wide keeper in the back to cover the overlap. It's adjustable this way, too.

I had to remake my belt because the original didn't fit over my costume after I redid some of it. It does up with a regular buckle at the back.

JoAnn's or a fabric/sewing/crafting store. A heavy duty velcro would probably be good.

I work at a Boy Scout summer camp as staff every summer, and they have a leatherwork section. so i am thinking of making my belt then, cause the leather will be free, and if i screw up i can always get more. i can also dye the leather any color i want (yay). but that isnt until june, but still, twill be fun. also i want to make mine 2" wide cause i dont like the uber thick ones, dont like the look, and ill put maybe a 3/4" one inside that for the jedi look. but ill have room to experiment there this year.

You work at a Scout camp where they have sides of leather? That's a switch. When I worked at Scout camp all they had were packaged precut kits. Of course, that was twenty years ago.
