Personally I think leather is a perfect material for boots. Its durable and can be very versatile. And you can find them in any range of price.

ok, it's a bit more pricy, but if the experts say it's the best, than leather it is

Leather is usually more durable, and it breathes,(standing for long streches at conventions, your feet will get pretty soggy in most of the pleather boots), which generally makes it more comfortable. It's also warmer when it's cold. Make sure they are comfortable, whatever they are made out of, and wear them for a while so thay aren't brand new the first time you wear them at a convention.

Don't mind me, I'm just going to add "vinyl or leather" to the title so we know what we're talkin about. And yeah, too crowded! ;D We need more varied threads for boots.

What size do you wear Jade? I still have that pair of Ralph Lauren "Combat" boots that don't fit me...they are brand new....retail for $200.00 but I would sell them for $75.00 ...they are gorgeous, but are just about 1/2" too small for my calves.....I plan to put them up for sale on E-bay this weekend....I will hold off if you might be interested...they are size 8.....and they are black...

Also with leather boots you can buy the spray that waterproofs . You can get it anywhere. It makes the boots wet but dries clear and it really works... Also keeps dirt or stains from setting in.... I have done this to every pair that I have....OH......schph....I found someone that fits my Adi Gallia boots...and it is a GUY!!...LOL.... I have my eye on a great pair at my local tack shop....that fit and match my belt perfectly! they are taller too ...comes all the way to the knee.....can't wait to get them....Finally my outfit will be complete then it is picture time......

ohhhhh.... sounds like you finally found some boots em...
and you can actually try them on!
I have been dragging my butt about putting those Ralph Lauren "combat" boots up for sale on e-bay...I just love them so much...but gotta be realistic about them ever fitting my calves (which are mostly muscle).

That is my problem too...Muscular calves.... That was the main problem with my Adi Gallias. They made the calves way to big....If that guy doesn't want them, I might try E-Bay... I have never done that before...Is it hard to do?

E-bay is pretty easy....I am a complete computer doofus and managed it....
you will have to sign up...which is pretty painless...after you sign up-you can both buy and sell things....the site pretty much walks you through the whole thing. The amount that you have to pay e-bay is a small percent of the sale....it was worth it when I sold my belt that I couldn't use.....or if you find that you don't want to do it...I can put it up for sale under my ID....let me know...

Well, I saw several pairs on e-bay. They were black leather though. They ranged in price $9.95 to $30.00. I don't know if you want leather, but looks like a deal to me....They weren't my size or I would have considered them...I think e-bay is just about the cheapest... I know Walmart and Target carry some that are vinyl and run around $14.00.
