it seems to me the jedi ranks are left out of our code. while upon joining, our blade color must be specified, but what of our status: guardian, consular, and sentinal? or the prestige classes such as watchmen, jedi master, weaponsmaster, shadow, healer, historian and the like?
i think it would be a neat addition to make our organization that much more authentic.

We do not use such ranks as we are stictly a costuming group, not a role playing or gaming group. Those ranks are not from the films but from gaming, etc.
Master Rank is only used here for members of the Council, or for the designation of Order Master, which refers to a member who moderates one of the geographical sections.

kai is right, its not what we are, and as jaryk said.....it would complicate things. as cool as it would be it would just cause problems we dont need

I further agree... those ranks come from Knights of the Old Republic. Those two games are my favorite but they aren't canon. The only "official" film ranks would be Padawan, Knight, and Master. Ranks within the Jedi Assembly would look cool but they would complicate things within the group and would imply a hierarchy of importance within the group. Such hierarchy could lead to division and discord and could be far more destructive than beneficial. And, in the end, this is a costuming group, which has no need for such titles and distinctions. As a Jedi fan I applaud the idea and I like to see such enthusiasm and inspiration from a member. In this instance it is simply impractical, though. Of course I mean no disrespect to you or your idea. The idea is simply too intricate to impliment in any meaningful or convenient manner.

There are many ways to learn the ways of the Force, but only those who have joined it may know best.

If we went by the Old Republic's ranking system...I'd be farming on Telos... ;D

A Jedi is not practiced for one's own sake, and even less for the sake of fame and profit. Just for the sake of Compassion you should practice it.

That is why I want to be part of this Group, because on how it is run. Nobody is put in classes which could Form Clichs...when you have different classes hanging around and other classes feeling left out. Thank you Jedi Assembly for the way you have it now.. I am a Jedi Costumer and enjoy those who share the same. Peace, Allan (Quick2)

I further agree... those ranks come from Knights of the Old Republic. Those two games are my favorite but they aren't canon. actually considering there are books and comics based off of these games, and also that lucasarts put out that game with obsidian/bioware (both games) it probably is considered canon, unless i am misunderstanding the term canon

i thought the same ldi, as all of the characters in the KOTOR games are actually in star wars literature.
i dont think it would complicate things or make people feel left out. i dotn think having classes could form clichs, as it would bring us closer to the actual jedi order, were all are equal. a name is just a name and in no way should it effect how we work together, but for authenticities sake, why not have the classes and prestige classes

I do appreciate your suggestion, but that is not part of who we are. As stated before, we are more of a costuming organization than a roleplaying one.

Simplicity imparts stability in most cases. THe current system seems the best for the stated reasons.

Books, video games, and comics, though authorized by Lucas Entertainment, are not considered canon. Hence those costumes and accessories are not accepted for "official representatives" at Lucas Events ( i.e. Star Wars Weekends, etc). They only accept "canon" costumes. If I'm wrong, Someone correct me please. Besides you can call yourself anthing you want. ( execpt Sith)

That's correct. Books, comics, and video games are all part of the Expanded Universe. A costume that is recreated from such a source, we would dub "EU Canon".
