Doubt gray will pass. There is a whole other thread on it somewhere here. Dark brown is the way to go! Actually the whole colour scheme of the light browns and whatnot grows on ya after a bit.

The black belt and boots would be fine, but the robe couldn't be black. I'm sure I've read that grey is acceptable, as long as it is distinguishable as grey... I really like the sound of your costume, best of luck with it

I have a dryer-lint gray robe, which is gray fabric dyed with brown Rit dye. Brownish-gray is fine.

As per the Jedi TJA costuming regulations, gray is not acceptable for a Jedi costume:
3. Costume colors: a. For "general" Jedi costumes (i.e., a costume that is not an exact replica of an established character), all brown or tan color variations are acceptable.
The reason is, that there are no Jedi seen in any of the films that wear gray. Generally it is the earth tones, the browns, tans, creams, that appear on screen.

Gotta ask, while checking through jedi costumes earlier, I key seeing mention that Bultar Swan has a "jade" colored tunic...the different pictures I've seen look like they go from a light gray to a pale jade green.

I don't think Jade is the word for it... it's a beige color that has a greenish cast.
And Just for the record, the definition of beige is:
A light grayish or yellowish brown. Undyed, woolen fabric may also be referred to as beige.

Also, Butler Swan's tunics were tan. The color correcting done in post production, to better match her skin tone, made her tunics have a greenish cast. But it is still in the beige/tan family.

I think people honestly forget how much variation there IS in brown, talking almost millions of shades.. And yes Bultar Swan is tan
