Just got home from the midnight showing. And I want to say that I loved it. I may have to watch it again to clarify my feelings saying that this is the best episode of all 6.
For a long time, I had ANH as my favorite. This one just topped it.
The crowd was great. It showed in 8 screens here in Pasadena. The line was outside, so there was more than 30 people with lightsabers, fighting and giving a show. Once we got in, there were beach balls being tossed. It was great. well, cant wait to watch it again this weekend.

[glow=blue,3,0000]::total shock:: I went to a theater with about 20 screens - all showing Revenge of the Sith. There were around 5,000 people there. We were all displaying our lightsabers, our costumes, and our Star Wars T-shirts. People were dueling with their lightsabers, taking pictures, exchanging spoilers - everyone was happy. We went into the theater and bought food. It was the cheapest theater food I've ever seen. A bottle of soda or a small popcorn for $1. Then... the movie began.
The next thing I remember is leaving the theater in total bliss. If you haven't seen it, worry no more. This is nothing like Episodes 1 and 2. You'll fall in love with Star Wars all over again after seeing this episode.[/glow]

I went to the midnight showing as well. Being in a smaller city in Canada I was worried that I would be the only one in costume- I wasn't. There were about a dozen fans dressed up outside having lightsaber fights. No stormtroopers but there was a Vader. I had my full Jedi regalia on. ;D The theater was going to show it on only one screen. By 11pm they had opened up three! I made a few jokes while buying my tickets and getting a seat (Is the theater for Star Wars? I thought it was for Madagascar.). I met a couple of fans who were there to do the strangest thing- they said for me to switch seats with them (giving me the best seats in the house) because they planned on leaving shortly after the movie started. They went on to explain that they were there to witness the excitement of the midnight premiere, but wanted to watch the movie for the first time with their large group of friends (who couldn't make it this night) on the weekend. The lights dimmed... the opening crawl went by, and sure enough, the two fans who gave up their seats to me ran out of the theater! After nearly 2 1/2 hours, I was speechless! The movie made me laugh as it should, and brought me to tears. It may be the best SW film of all time! Any flaws of strained comedy, poor pacing, or awkward acting that hampered the previous installments were not present in this film. And I take back everything I may have thought about Hayden Christensen's acting ability. He is fantastic as the tragic hero going down the slippery slope to ruin. It was like watching a good friend becoming a drug addict or criminal, and not be able to do anything to stop it. The movie is heart-wrenching at times. The effects blew me away. And be prepared for the most mind-numbing lightsaber duel you have ever witnessed! It scores 11 stars out of ten for me! Bravo George Lucas! Bravo! ;D ;D ;D

Went to midnight showing as well, IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! I dressed up as Anakin, there were a few other dressed up as well, jedi, a few 501st stormtroopers, vader, yoda, chewbacca, red imp guard. Me and some others spent about 2 hours posing and such for pictures, it was great. And after seeing the movie, people were greetings me and making comments about how good I was in the movie about the younglings and such. One guy said great job but you shouldnt have overestimated that one jump. LOL

Saw the 12:01 am today, going back at 7:00 pm tonight. We were 45 minutes getting from the curb to our seats ... Pictures with many in the crowd, two guys from the 501st stopped me and said "I'm glad you are here, we wish more of the Jedi Assembly had come." I was floored, not RL but TJA ... These guys remembered us from CIII and were very grateful of the job we did volunteering.
Inter viewed by a Sci-fi blogger, when I find his card I'll post the address, (See this thread) TV interviews, etc. What a night ... Then the movie, it was awesome!!! My wife said as we left, the boys 9, 8, & 6 are going to love this.

All I can say is that I was totally speechless. That is the first time I have ever walked away from a movie speechless. It just rocked. This is the best movie of all the Episodes, it had everything in it from characters to feelings. I just totally loved it.
If you haven't seen it yet go see it right now, drop everything and just GO! ;D And if you have already seen it I hope that you will go and see it again, I know that I am going again tomorrow.
The 12:01 am showing I went to was awesome, people took lots of pictures of me, my best friend and his wife. They told us we had the best costumes.

Saw it last night at the 12:01 AM showing as part of the costumed atmosphere provided by the radio station that was giving away tickets for it. Free dinner and a movie. Great deal.
The movie had so much STUFF in it! I love busy-ness, but this is going to take some time to absorb. There were some things missing, I thought, but the Big, Important Things were exceptional and in some cases surprising. All my months of spoiler avoiding were well rewarded.
I gave a disposable camera to one of the trooper minders, so with luck I'll have some record of the event.
One of the local TV stations tagged me on the way out and I actually came up with something, "Lots of action, but GREAT tragedy." I don't know if they'll use it (I look terrible on video tape), but it was a decent sound bite.

We got there at about 7 PM and were in the second half (i.e., the part that was outside) of the line for the 12:01 DLP screening. It's a good thing we did, too, because there were four of us, and if we were any further back in the line, we wouldn't have been able to sit together at all. As it was, we had to split up into pairs, but that wasn't any big deal. Not many people in costume, but there were quite a few lightsabers, both Master Replicas and Parksabers (and Hasbro) alike.
The only real negative about the whole pre-movie experience was some joker who had gotten into the theater by providing credentials that he worked for a local radio station. He proceeded to "welcome" us all to the screening, then started shouting a number of "plot points" for the entire theater to hear. Fortunately, nothing he was saying was true, but the managers wouldn't do anything about the guy, even though they were in the theater as he was yelling this junk...
Anyway, the film itself: I can honestly say that this movie exceeded every expectation that I had going into it. I had already ruined a lot of the major stuff for myself, so there were no surprises. That being said, I was still absolutely blown away by Lucas' presentation. Yes, some of the action sequences felt like they could have been longer, but they didn't have that "let's just throw this in as an afterthought" feel that some reviewers have mentioned.
I'll be honest, I've never been a big fan of the Prequel Trilogy's brand of humor. The battle droids annoyed me, and the whole C-3P0 losing his head at the end of Attack of the Clones was just horrible. That being said, this was a completely different experience altogether. All the droid humor (battle droid or otherwise) was great, it really worked in the context of the film, given the spirited manner in which the film starts.
What I was really concerned about, however, was the acting. I have been reading (as I'm sure most of you have) for the last several weeks from people such as Peter Travers of Rolling Stone and Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times that the film falls flat because of the acting (though, Ebert still gave the film a thumbs up and 3 1/2 stars). That being said, nothing could be further from the truth. Much to my surprise, I was very impressed by both Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. The domestic scenes were well played and didn't have anywhere near the amount of awkwardness that I believed was present in the last two films. Ian McDiarmid was great as Palpatine for the most part, save one sequence where he was just a bit too over the top (I'll let you figure which part I'm referring to for yourselves). Ewan McGregor is tremendous and, at least from my point of view, really gives the film the emotional impetus that the events leading into Episode IV needed. I am now more certain than ever that Obi-Wan is my absolute favorite character in the saga. Cudos to the two Scots!
I absolutely cannot wait to go see this again, and I am thrilled that it is going to be out on DVD in time for Christmas!
Edit: I should also mention that my younger sister, who likes Star Wars but isn't as devoted as I am, really liked the film a lot. In fact, talking with her about it afterward, she liked it better than Empire Strikes Back and thought it was the best in the saga!

Saw it, with hubby at midnight premiere yesterday and today at 2PM with hubby and our 27-year-old son. ESB still my fave for couple reasons (okay love scenes still too stiff), but this is second. Hubby loved it, though ESB still his fave too. He has seen it three times now--well he got to see it free Tuesday for working in trooper costume for Pepsi/Fritolay. JMD

I live ina void. Thre was a midnight showing in my town, but only 8 seats sold! No costumes, no line, no nothing. Tonight however, thee were quite a few cars outside the theatre.
I went and saw it in Columbus at noon today wearing my TJA shirt. All the hoopla was over, but the gal at the concession stand saw my shirt and commented that she liked it and actually knew who we were (she has a trooper friend). Then she warned me that "my guys don't fair too well" in the movie (that's an understatement.)
It was nice that someone knows who we are

I saw the 12:01 last night but I arrived at the theaterat 10:30 am just to get a good seat. there were only 3 other people ahead of me, but just a short time later the theater manager let us in the lobby to she stand in line in there. We passed the time talking Star Wars and playing games and talking to the press. Of course I was in costume and so was Ismene but she had to work so she showed up at 5. I was interviewed by 4 different tv stations in the cleveland area. Anyways........
This movie moved me more than I thought a Star Wars movie could. At the end I felt depressed, let down and all around sad. I actually shed a few tears. It was a very powerful movie and I don't think anyone who saw this movie would disagree. Like some of you, Ismene and I wanted to watch Return of the Jedi. We could not help but watch ROTS in complete awe. I have so much I want to say and I still can not get all my thoughts in order. We already bought are tickets for another showing tomorrow night. In short Revenge of the Sith KICKED A**!
