As I've said before I think in large scale situation the armor looks great...that's why in the Clone Wars spin offs they all wear armor. I really like the armor Rahm Kota from the Force Unleashed is wearing in the promo stuff really makes you get the idea of what a Jedi in a high impact area would wear.
As Admiral above I also do a few different kinds of sword work, sometimes it's for a film or production and sometimes it's for my personal fun or if I am doing traditional katas, I wear the appropriate attire or armor for that specific calling.
Jedi I wear tunics and that's it, but if say I was going to dragoncon I wouldn't mind a set of jedi armor as long as it was still noticed as a Jedi. if you got a bunch of jedi armored people together you'd get more photo ops then the 501's especially if you weather it.
bracers are great as well, especially if you can add a comlink or such to it for estics

Aesthetics? ie, because it looks cool? Not trying to be a smart-ass, just trying to help a brother out...
It would be cool to work some LEDs and maybe a glowing screen into one bracer, like Luke's glove in ESB.

I like the new CW concepts with Jedi in armor. It seems a lot more battle appropriate than just running around in tunics. It's more consistent with how Samurais wore their tunics while in training but had heavy duty ceremonial armor in battle.

I do, I mean the jedi are knights and need to IMO somewhat resemble a knight. On the other hand, Jedi have significantly more powers with which to defend and protect themselves than did medieval knights. In the world of the Jedi, it is the lightsaber which is the outward sign, rather than armor. However, one wonders why Obi-Wan wore amor. I wouldn't have thought he would have needed it, given the telekenetic powers of the Jedi. Armor does not make a knight. Honor, character, personal mastery make a knight, as least in idealized archetype. All that being said, I prefer Obi-Wan's armor in Clone Wars to what is pictured above. I dont think that he needed the armor I think that because he was a general in the clone wars he wore it like a uniform ( a freakin sweet one) I total agree that the armor doesnt make the knight. Its the knights code that makes him knightly. I am doing a general Obi Wan in clone armor.
Personaly I think the clone armor with out a helm and with a cloak looks sweet I cant wait till mines done.

Ah...I love that kickin' image of Obi Wan in partial armor with the cloak added for Jedi flair.
I don't think anyone can argue that the armor makes the knight; it's certainly true that the code, the honor and intent behind his or her actions, is what makes a knight a knight. But I don't care what galaxy you're from, armor is sweet when done right, and this armor is certainly done right. Not that he needed it - he's proven time and time again, as all of them have - that the Force is with them, and that, along with their lightsabers, is what makes them as totally awesome as they are. But I'm sure they don't necessarily NEED the starfighters that they used in Episodes II and III, but they sure as hell looked cool, yes?! Especially since they were all personalized. Maybe they decided on utilizing personalized starfighters after Episode I, where they had to ferry a ride with people who were, ultimately, trying to kill them...certainly seems safer, that's for sure....
...I digress....
Hands down, the image of Obi Wan in his partial clone trooper armor is one of the freakin' coolest EVER, and I applaud anyone who's attempting to that costume together. Certainly it should be allowed, right? Granted, you have to have a traditional, screen-accurate Jedi Knight costume, following all of the TJA guidelines, but a Clone Wars general's costume would also put us on the map @ any function.
Something to think about.
May the Force be with you.

Yeah, I was looking into making that costume but ended up not being able to find a source for the clone armor that I was comfortable with. I ended up getting Stormtrooper armor and have toyed with the idea of doing a stormie version of it.
Now that I am a member of the 501st I'm going to ask around about clone armor once I get the money for it. I've always liked the idea of an armored Jedi.
