I found this on wookiepedia and all it says is that it is "Typical Jedi Armor" and cites the source as the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook. Anyone know anything else about it? oh, here is the url where I found it. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_apparel

I only know one thing about it. I hate it. I've never seen that one before either.

The chest plate resembles snow trooper armor to me. I think I prefer the General Kenobi style of armor better myself.

Yeah, it is kind of weird looking. I'm trying make an armored Jedi costume, and the skirt/kamas looking part of his tunic gave me an idea for my own. So did the helmet, though if I try the helmet it won't look quite like this. (thankfully )

Ahh the battle armour pre CLone Wars.:-D
Possiblycan be used as training armour for full strength saber combat.

Yeah there are a few sites with Jedi wearing armor, the Obi-Wan example most obvious, but they even had a Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan action figure with Lightsaber trainging gear...didn't like them too much either, bottom line I really don't like armor on Jedi

I do, I mean the jedi are knights and need to IMO somewhat resemble a knight.

Yeah I like the idea of an armored Jedi (hence me trying to make one as we speak ;D ) I'm not too fond of this armor though, I was trying to find out more about it to see if it would lead me to a source where there was more edit; besides the sources i already know of naturally...

I have seen what peole have done to some football pads. turned outpritty cool. Theres one on tf.net I forget what the fan film was called but a quick surf should show some positive results.

I do, I mean the jedi are knights and need to IMO somewhat resemble a knight. On the other hand, Jedi have significantly more powers with which to defend and protect themselves than did medieval knights. In the world of the Jedi, it is the lightsaber which is the outward sign, rather than armor. However, one wonders why Obi-Wan wore amor. I wouldn't have thought he would have needed it, given the telekenetic powers of the Jedi. Armor does not make a knight. Honor, character, personal mastery make a knight, as least in idealized archetype. All that being said, I prefer Obi-Wan's armor in Clone Wars to what is pictured above.

I agree with Kai.
In addition, an armor reduces mobility. Jedi needs more mobility then physical protection.

I have the comic books about the battle of Russan, the Jedi in it are wearing armor, I'll make some scans and post them.

I agree with Kai. In addition, an armor reduces mobility. Jedi needs more mobility then physical protection. Not to mention, that in the game KOTOR it explains that a jedi's powers and abilities are often limited while wearing armor.

In that game yeah. but that dosent go for the whole of SW. I watched a short clip of mace windu wearing shoulder chest armor. bracers. a clone belt(with boxes) and shin knee armor and he was kicking the crap out of the droids like it was a frigging jet li movie.
