technically, in SW universe, this is a 2nd smaller tunic with thinner material.
in real SW filming, it was a "dickie" - a t-shirt with a tunic V-neck made into, to give impression of a 2nd tunic.
I myself am planning my undertunic that way.
Hope this bit of info helps out.

Actually they had full inner tunics, only Obi-Wan ROTS had a differnt tunic, but it still folded over to close, just its sleaves and neck. Theres been lots of BTS pics showing this

Primrodo, where'd you get your silk crepe, and about how much a yd.? Hard to find in the city in brown or nat. or tans, lots of bright stuff, and price is ridiculous as well. PM please, thanks.

I've been working on my undertunic, but I'm zeroing on the correct pattern; I have to cut the neck high so it will fit properly. If the v-neck is cut too low (like on an earlier attempt of mine), I found myself just pulling it forward so the sleeves didn't fit right for the neck to show properly under the tunic.
I like a full shirt undertunic so I can tuck it into my pants to keep it in place. I've never liked dickies. Strong with the Force am I, too.

The sleeve is cut longer (a couple inches past the end of the fingers) so the wrists "ruck".... To make a tight sleeve that can still fit over the hand, cut the pattern on the fabric bias.... Many of us who are not recreating an actual costume (as is Primrodo) use cotton gauze which is fairly cheap and easily found.

This is probably a dumb question, but why would cutting on the bias help a tight sleeve fit over your hand?

i think because it allows to stretch more, not sure though. im willing to try anything though.
master ona: is that sleeve you have pictured above cut on the bias, or is it strait?
