I'm not sure if this is in another thread. I wanted to find out what would be the easiest way to put tucks into the outer tunic shoulders & about how wide should they be? I know they'll be hidden under the tabbords.

For tucks, just make the shoulders maybe 6 inches wider than they need to be and then fold them back after you've sewn the body of the tunic together so that the arms are the right length. There's no set width for the shoulder tucks, just whatever looks best on you will work fine.

I usually make the shoulders about 11/2 to 2 inches wider and after sewing in the sleeve fold in the seam until I'm happy with the shoulder fit, I then sew the tuck from about 5 or 6 inches from the seam at the front to about that far down in backthe stiching is covered by the tabbards, but it could be done with a blind stich as well, or by hand from the inside. As Ani said, there's no set width on them, what looks and feels best is what goes.

Thank you all. That's about what I was thinking of as well. I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track. Believe it or not I am. Yea! One step closer to the finish. When I get this tunic done I think I'll know how to do it blindfolded, hee, hee. I'm thinking of it as a puzzle that has to be sewn together. I just thought of this to: Do the Episode 1 outer tunics have tucks in the shoulders?
As of today 2-24 I have 1 tunic itself finished, yeah! Now I just have to finish its tabbords & obi.
